I hope these are good photos, because my photoshop isn't working, so i can't "combine" the two photo's of each royal, sorry! I need lots of help with Catherine's nose and skin color. And henry needs general help. please critique! :jest:

You chose a pretty tough Henry source picture to work from, but I guess there's no better portrait of him at this age? Anyway, a few things I think could make your sim look better:

- Higher cheekbones
- Bring the whole nose up
- Shorter mouth
- Pull the chin in a little
- darker eyes

Your sim generally looks too pretty at the moment. The biggest problem here is the lack of a proper source image. But perhaps you manage to make it work :)

Catherine:

- Shorter forehead
- darker hair and eyes
- face rounder and chubbier
- Chin shorter and rounder
- Upper lip thinner

Try using/making a nosemask for her, since you can't get that shape just by sculpting (a really cute nose she has!). As for the skintone, I just usually try a dozen of different ones until it seems right.

Overall, it looks like a good start :)

Thanks for the good reply! I want henry to look as he did in 1509, and thats the only one i can find BEFORE 1520. So, I'll have to make do with that one image. And for Catherine, I can't do nosemasks, I genuinley suck at making anything, much less texturing and such :/,

Two things I see directly (for Catherine):
- Make her upper lip thinner
- she needs a rounder face. Try to widen her chin. On your sim's one is really getting pointed, like \ / but on Catherine it's not standing out.
I'm not quiet sure about the eyes. For me they seem to far away from the eyebrows.
Maybe bigger pictures would help, in which you can see the face better.

Henrys chin is sticking out too much maybe pull it in more? Is there anyway to give Katherine the hooded eye look? Cant wait to see end results, I am a Tudor fanatic so looking forward to your project!

I would try a nose mask for Cathrine. I think there is one for Sarah Michele Gellar that would look great.

I would make her mouth less smiley, by 1 or 2 clicks. The eyeshadow should be a more natural color with a mild liner. And by mild I mean almost not there. I will post some more suggestions tomorrow. Henry needs a lot of work, so you should finish her first and then start work on him.

Chin up and rounder face for Catherine, maybe less wide eyes. It's hard to see what dress you're using but one of the dark red or black ones would be more matching: http://www.all-about-style.com/themes_tudor.html It also looks like she has brown hair brown eyes not blond hair blue eyes.

Thats just a dark portrait scan..in real life the hair the portrait portrays an red haired, blue eyed teen. But I ll change the dress if it helps.

Unfortunatly, the skin make her look too much like Sarah Michele Gellar, so maybe, after receiving permission from the skin creator, you can just use the nose shape and ditch the rest of the skin. I liked the first on better, it was more natural, less shiny, etc. If you can;t get permission, I would give it a shot and if that fails, then I would use this skin as a last resort.

I think generally the sim face models in game give faces that are long and narrow and also they tend to have very large foreheads - in the portrait, Catherine has a much rounder face and if you look at your sim's forehead and compare, you can see that the distance between the portrait's eyebrows and her hairline is much shorter. Could you try pulling the face up? This might allow you to shorten the chin and make the face rounder.

Also, and this is something of a personal preference of mine, I think the eyes are too large. Again this is to do with the game models - basically Maxis were over-influenced by Anime/Manga and all that. As a result, and by default, the eyes on sims are proportionally too big. As I said, this is a personal preference of mine and so feel free to ignore me. I know a lot of people like the doe-eyed look (I think too big eyes look like boiled sweets and once you see it that way they always look revolting - but whatever). However, again, if you compare your sim to the portrait, the eyes are much smaller in proportion to the mouth and nose.

Proportionally, that's a much better match and that hair seems just right. I wonder if there's anything like that whacking great headdress available anywhere on the web? The only place I can think of for something like that would be All About Style.

No..i Already looked X(. BTW, the line in the background is a halo..not part of her headress..Personally..I don't see much of a resemblence anymore.. :blink:

It's a good sim! You're getting much closer!

The suggestions I have is that you should make her eyes much smaller and her eyelids much much more prominent. Her eyes closer together as well. Also, making her face a little fatter wouldn't hurt. The lips should also be less thick, especially on the top.

I would also suggest getting rid of her eyelashes, as on the painting she does not appear to have much in the way of eyelashes.

The only things i can see you should REALLY try to get the same are the smaller forehead and the rounder face But she looks great though! :gjob:

Yea, I tried and the nose mask thing didn;t work. Sorry, but I think she looks really good right now, without it.

Save a copy of this sim in case I am being an idiot.

I would
-make her eyes 1-2 clicks less wide.
-Maybe move her entire face up 1 click
-Narrow the nose bridge 1-2 clicks.
-Make her lower lip a click plumper OR a click less pinched


Can you throw a maxis lipstick on her, a solid color one, just so I can see the true shape of her lips? Sometimes the natural ines have a feathered affect that make the lips smaller than they actually are.

Overall, she looks amazing, what an improvement!
