View Full Version : Add slots to counter/cabinet
3rd Mar 2011, 01:39 PM
I'm trying to make a kitchen set. I want to make shelves in the counters, i put the slots in the ws but then in game i can't put objects on it... i've tryed to make it from the beginning, i've renamed the slots and changed the hash to 0x00000000 but the problem in game persists.
Anyone knows the solution or if that's impossible to make counters with shelves included?
I have tryed with the cabinets and i have the same problem.

Hmm.. If anyone knows the answer, I would be interested in knowing as well.
I'm guessing you've already read the slots tutorial
I know there was a lot of discussion about slots at http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=395889 but since I am such a novice I don't know what most of it means. I'm really going to have to delve into the tutorials.
By the way, you said you "can't put objects on it". Does that mean you
a) Can't put objects on the counter anymore?
b) Can't put objects on the new shelves
c) Can't put objects on either?
Also, when you pick up an object to try to place it on the counter/shelf what happens? Does it give you a message about not being able to intersect objects? Does it just show a red square under the object to let you know it can't be placed there? Have you tried using moveobjects on to see if it changes your results?

i mean that i cant put objects on the shelves, the counter works fine, i can put objects and the sink, and the dishwasher, but i cant put decorative objects on the new shelves.
I don't remember if i've tryed moveobjects... i can't do it now but i'll try tonight and i post if this is the solution.
Thanks for answer!!

Did you set the placement flags?

I was wondering that as well. I know that for Sims2 objects you had to set placement flags to say what types of items could be put on the slot. It seems that B3ryl cloned existing slots and followed the steps in the tutorial to make them work so wouldn't the flags already be set? Unless something else needs to be edited elsewhere to make them function.
Maybe cmomoney knows? He/she does a lot of things with slots. I see that someone else with an H name (can't remember the username right now) made some mods to add slots to the backs of toilets and other objects.

i am working with TSRW and on some objects you can simply copy its slot, some needs a new name(autohash?)
And there are alot that needs editing on the rig file, same with the joints.
