View Full Version : Multiple accessories on a sim pet at once-Pets

I'm trying to make the accessories from the unicorn available in CAP, which I did just fine, but since I put the horn and beard under accessories, the horse can only use just one item under accessories. Is there a way yet to put the horn as a different accessory type? Or a way to make the horn and beard able to be worn at the same time?

The only way to do this currently, for sims, is AwesomeMod; I've been wondering how it's done and whether it's closer to a CAS UI mod, more sim-related, etc for a while, since I'd love to have that feature without AnnoyingMod. However, this does mean that for the purposes of your project, AM may be the only way to have multiple accessories at the moment.
Or, you could combine the meshes, fix the UVMapping, and combine the textures to make a single accessory.

Huh, I didn't know Awesomemod did that. I don't use it anymore so I'm a bit behind on its features.

Err, I'd hate to have to do that. LOL. I guess I'll just poke around in the UI file.

Well poking around in the UI file gave me a headache so I guess I'm outta luck. Lol.

Waiting for a programming genius to decompile the package and tell us which bits to modify in the package so we can make custom tack - saddles, bits, bridles, blankets, beadwork drops, etc.. :0) .....Kind of like the code tweaking for glasses and hats for any hairstyle or clothing wearable by YA, A and E all together... or.... in Sims2... :0)

Well, presumably they're just normal CAS Parts with CASP resources, right? So what do you see in Grid when examining the CASP? If I were EA, I'd just make new age/gender/category flags for pet accessories and tack.

You can extract the mesh parts and combine them. Then export the combined item as 1 accessory.
I was looking at the horse stuff myself. I have lots of plans for horse extras.

What process are you using to extract the mesh parts, porkypine? I've been trying with many of the tools but haven't found the magic method. I have the CASmod Unicorn set offered in the dowloads but maybe using that file is the wrong way? I'm wanting to use the mesh textures for the horses and unicorns as a template to design us up some custom ones... IE, our own designer horns, manes, fetlocks, tails and textures to go with them!

1: Get the latest version of TSRW because it extracts the new Pets meshes with the bone assignments in tact and
2: for making new meshes, I use Milkshape 1.8.5 Beta 2 - It has been updated to recognize more than 128 joint values - so download the beta 2 version and
3: make sure you get Wes How's updated bone tool which will help you with your new mesh bone assignments when you want to create horse and other pets stuff.
I've posted links to all those things in the wiki Sims3 create section. You need the updated software because Pets animals have new bone joint values about 128. The older stuff can't read them properly. I don't know if the plugins for other meshing programs has been updated or not. I don't use them. You're on your own with the other software.

Absolutely! Look for releases from N8iveSims mod group. We're working on Nez Perce style horse tack right now. If interested meshers want to join the mod group, go to the forums and find us there. :p

Thanks for all the great info, porkypine. I'm using Blender so far, I may have to get MS again tho. I should have the latest version of all the tools, but I'll double check now. Thanks again!

What file are you opening to see the pet meshes? Starting a new project and importing a new file or is it a clothing or an accessory? If you are importing the horse bits as CAS parts, which file do you get them from? I was also interested in the Unicorn bits since I'd also like to do custom horn mesh and textures. There's so many files to try and look thru, I dunno what one is the right one to be working with to extract these lovely morsels. I can do the rest of this, is just getting the right files to start with I think is my problem at this point, as all the tools I have seem to be updated.
