Private Investigator: How Do You Find...?

It is possible that this question was already asked and answered somewhere in the forums, but I personally could not find the answer.

Explanation: I just started playing a P.I. for the first time, and he got a case to help a love struck Sim find out if the woman he loves actually loves him. After the initial chat, he suggested I go and speak to 2 members of her family. Excellent idea, except I can't find her anywhere, let alone her family.

The question: How do you find the people your Private Investigator is supposed to speak to?

I usually just ask random people at the park - That works fine - but again i haven't had the one where it actually said to go "ask her family" (: you could try asking people at the park.

You can ask complete strangers and it's fine. The text is just that...text.

If the sim you want to find lives in a house you can use resetsim on them and they will teleport to their letterbox.

Most likely the sim you're trying to find does NOT live in a house, which means that the quest is broken and uncompletable because the sim doesn't exist anymore. Mostly, I just let Supreme Commander in AwesomeMod handle finding "Where the hell is that sim". If Supreme Commander can't find it, it ain't there.

Not true! Sometimes they don't live in a house but often they do.
