I was wondering if there was anyway to make you own flat marking using like Photoshop, and downloading it into the game to be used as a marking? I wanted to make a brand for my horses.

anyone know? I have Photoshop and a moderate amount of smarts on downloading CC.

Thanks!

Possibly the same way you'd make custom tattoos (which I know people do but don't know how)?

Yea, I don't know how to 'dissect' the files and maybe find the marking files that are already in there, and finding out the file type and making my own. Whenever I go and look in EA > The Sims 3 > ?, I don't know where the heck to look! They all seem to be unreadable files (Because I obviously don't have the write program to read them). :faceslap:

The markings are in the FullBuild0_p10.package file which is found in the Sims 3 Pets game installation folder, GameData\Shared\Packages. The files are named acMarkingsblahblah (adult cat), adMarkingsblahblah (dog), ahMarkingsblahblah (horse). s3pe or some other Package Editor can be used to open the fullbuild file and examine this stuff.

Thanks Shimrod, the OP got me thinking about the possibility too.

Thanks a lot :) so helpful! I'll have to check the S3PE.

Hey, I have downloaded the S3PE and searched to find the files, I can't find them, any Idea? can I search? they are under the FullBuild_p10.package file right? I don't know if you are familiar with the program, I just assumed because you said the file name. Thanks so much, sorry for the amount of questions :)

Make sure to open the FullBuild0_p10 file. Notice the 0 before the underscore, don't open FullBuild1_p10. It's easiest to find them by sorting by the "tag" column (the tag they have is "_IMG"), then just scrolling until you find them.

I would love more customizing for pets. I wanted to make my own two dogs in the game, the only problem is one of my dogs only has one eye so it doesn't really work in the Sims. =)

If you make the other eye the same color as whatever his fur is on his face it'll be much less noticeable ingame. In CAS yeah, but it'll sort of blend in during normal play.

If you want help figuring out how to mod the skins, you might want to look at the modding forums in the Create menu :) More likely to be folks there who can help.
