I know if a sim paints in an art gallery, there is a 20% chance of the work they do showing up in that gallery.
My question: Is the same true for sculpture? *would be a shame if it weren't*

hm...i have never heard of this....
i know paintings you do and sculptures once done...can be dragged into the inventory....and then dragged into the art gallery

You can't drag sculptures because they go into the family inventory, only paintings can be dragged. And yes, there is a chance that a painting by your Sim shows up in the museum if you sell it from the easel via the sell interaction. You don't have to paint them there, however, it also works from home or any other lot. And AFAIK this will not work for sculptures.

Are you kidding me? I had an artist sim. She rolled a want to go to the art museum, and EVERYTHING there was painted or sculpted by her.

Interesting. Can you confirm the sculpture is there? That it says "created by ____"? Because in my sculpture garden in my art gallery, the work is all done by someone else (EA). I do see her paintings, though.

Wait, maybe that's it.....
My sculpture garden is actually a 15 x 15 lot in front of the actual gallery building....would that make a difference? I DO have it classified as an art gallery.

That reminds me of when I played Sims 2 on Game Cube. I had a sim who painted, and I finally got her to move to the Monty's house (I think it was them, I haven't touched my Game Cube in years). I put all the walls up, and every single space on their wall was covered in the self portraits she sold. Creepiest thing ever.

My latest Sim child made a painting so awful that I immediately sold it. A day or two later he rolled the wish to go to the gallery and on one of its walls ...

UPDATE:
I put a potter's wheel in my sculpture park, changed the lot category to Art Gallery, and let her go to work. Three sim days later, 2 of her masterpieces were there.
Thanks!

 My brain is spinning. Does she go to work at the gallery?

Oh....yes she does, she is a self employed sculpter. I set hours for her to work, she goes to the gallery *sculpture garden* so that other sims can watch her work while they picnic. She also loves the outdoors, so it works all around.

Sounds like a dream job with free picnic lunch nearby.
