I've changed the Graphics file and my Sims 2 now supports the resolution for the game but the problem is the Sims look very skinny. I researched and came across this:

Looking at the pictures it seems to fix that issue, problem is the download isn't there and I haven't been able to get a response.
Does anyone else know of a fix I can download for this? How do most of you who have widescreens deal with the issue (or am I doing something wrong with the graphic rules and it isn't supposed to look that way?).
Any help appreciated thanks!

I cant help you there with the fix for it.
But if you are like me you will get used to it. It annoyed me to bits at first, but now I never think of it.

Try ticking "use square pixels" in your game's graphic options?

I tried that, it doesn't do anything. I've spent days searching the internet for a fix can't seem to locate anything else.

Really? Mine all look like over 6ft tall catwalk models and faces are so long. I don't think I can get used to it.

I had that problem when I first installed. I fixed it by making the resolution on my game and computer the same.

Did you lower the resolution on your computer to match the game? Do you have black spaces on the sides due to this?

Yes I did lower the resolution on my computer slightly and I do have black spaces on the sides. Are you wanting to avoid black spaces?

I haven't tried it that way and might give it a go. So long as the graphics don't suffer I may be able to live with it that way...

I don't know if this would help you any,but It seemed too work ok for me.
Depending on your graphics card (NVidia or ATI) I use ATI.Open the control panel and set Res too 1600x 900 on your desktop, then boot the game up and go into your hood and set that too the same thing. After you exit game you can set your res back too original.I have too use this setting because I have an HD flatscreen and my res is at 1920x1080 <---- When I set it too this res in game the sims look stretched out and animation became really stuttering and jerky and lagged bad.The res of 1600x900 still has a bit of jerkiness, but it doesn't look stretched like you have.
You could try my method if you want.I hope it works out for you.Goodluck :)

Have you tried playing in windowed mode? I don't know if that'd make a difference.
I have a widescreen, but have always played in windowed mode so I'm not sure if I got the weird distorted resolution.

simkat, yes I have the same 1920x1080 as well so will definately give that a go. Hope it works for me too, thank you :)
Saturnfly, I've never played the Sims in windowed mode (didn't even know I could tbh) will also give that a try, thanks!

Just to put in my 2c. When I played on my laptop, which has a 17" widescreen, I played in windowed mode, and it worked great. When I tried playing full screen, everything looked weird and stretched and distorted. Granted, I never tried to adjust anything to fix it; I just discovered windowed mode and stayed with that.
The nice thing is that I could work on other things while my Sims were doing stuff that I didn't need to be involved in. (Like sleeping. Or everyone who was home was sitting around and skilling or building stuff at crafting stations or whatever.) I had enough "screen real estate" that I could keep the game and other applications open and visible at the same time, which you can't do if you tab out of a full-screen game because then it goes fully minimized. I rather like that situation myself. It's why now that I play on a newer desktop with better graphics, I STILL keep the game in windowed mode. I can, for instance, run the game and CAD at the same time, which is helpful when I'm building a house I originally laid out in CAD. :)

Ok, so the slightly lower resolution on both game plus computer seem to work but the graphics take a fairly big hit :(
In windowed mode it actually looks worse in mine as half the heads are chopped off and they look even skinnier and taller (not even model like, more anorexic type). The tall/skinny doesn't bother me that much its the long faces that seem to have 10 inch foreheads going on....not pretty :P
Not like there is much of a choice bodywise for them anyways, I'll just pretend they're all runway models. Will look great in my ancient themed nighbourhood :D

Hmm, maybe try lowering the resolution while in windowed mode, so that the resolution is native to EA's resolution limits (can't remember the highest it goes to) instead of using your computers resolution. Rather than stretching to fit in full screen, smaller resolutions simply change into a smaller window, that is if you don't mind playing in a smaller window.
TBH I have no idea what I'm talking about, I just hope your game can be normal. T_T
I looked everywhere on that website, but also couldn't find the downloads. :/
