I've always thought sim days are too short, I feel like 90% of the time when I'm playing it's dark. Where I live, during the summer we have daylight from 4am to 11pm, and I'd love to have that in sims as well.

I don't know if it's possible to change, but I'd really like one that has longer days and shorter nights. Having one where it depends on seasons would be even cooler, but longer days would be more than enough.

Anyone seen this anywhere, or know a creator somewhere that takes mod requests?

As far as I know, it is not possible to change the length of the day. That's hardcoded in the EXE.

The closest that I've seen is a mod which enables dawn and dusk:

Well, I imagine it's not possible to actually make the game consider it day, but I had hoped it would be possible to cheat the visual effect somehow. I have a mod that does about the same as that, making the transition smoother. I figured if one could do that, it'd be possible to make it brighter longer. But I guess not. Thanks Mootilda.

iibeccax - Then your antivirus is going off on things that aren't an issue, as the mod linked by Mootilda is merely a rar containing two txt files, and cannot contain a virus.
