View Full Version : WCIF Hack for no Married Sims in Welcome Wagon

I'm sick of trying to have a sim find an eligible partner and all the sims who come with the welcome wagon are married (not to mention the walkbys/sims on community lots are always either married or the wrong age/gender.) Is there a hack to make it, if possible, that everyone in the welcome wagon (and possibly walkbys too) is single?

Not that I'm aware of, but what's your hurry? Taking mate-seeking sims to a community lot is more useful, because it offers a wider pool of prospects. And if you don't like to lot-hop (usually counterproductive anyway), you can build or modify a community lot with everything a sim needs for an indefinite stay, so you won't have to leave until your sim has met as many prospects as you want him/her to have.

Yeah, but they're all the wrong gender/age or married too. And half of them are @#%$! children!

Sims in the Welcome Wagon are always playable, so if most of your playables are already married, there you have it.

Even if you create a bunch of unmarried playables in CAS, there's no guarantee they'll be in the Welcome Wagon.

So, unless there IS a hack that allows you more control of who shows up in the WW, the WW is just not a very good way for a sim to meet potential mates.

On community lots, you can enhance prospects by using TwoJeff's Visitor Controller to prevent other playables from showing up. That's one possibility.

Another is to use his (TJs) Find-A-Mate Crystal Ball to identify the five most-eligible sims in the neighborhood and teleport them straight to your mate-seeking sim's home. It functions like the Gypsy Matchmaker should, but doesn't.

No good for me. I don't have any EPs. Also, Townies do show up in WW if there's no Playable sims who aren't at work at noon Monday. I usually try to make sure all sims that are married have jobs that work then. It's also annoying how teens walkby all the time - unless you have a teen in the house, then it's always adults.

Well, that's unfortunate. Looks like community lots and patience are your only options, I'm afraid.

Good luck!

Seems to me the community lots are even worse than waiting for the walkby. Children (children don't show up on residential lots with no children) and teens show up there even if they're supposed to be in school and opposite sex singles almost never show up. Even using the latest inseminator and deleting all the married/young/wrong gender sims it's always the wrong ones show up. I use the voodoo bottle to make any married sim who walksby pee their pants but it's still always them. It almost seems sometimes like EA made it on purpose so things never go right - notice how sim couples often have twins when there's only room for one kid. Without hacks and cheats the game would be unplayable. I usually kill all the Pleasantview sims and use the mailbox to make new ones - I play only neighborhoods I make and the only PV townies I ever let live are Brandy LaTorneau, Benjamin Long, Meadow Thayer and Tosha Go.

I don't know what to tell you, except that you'll almost certainly have more fun if you install some EPs. In addition to the new gameplay options the EPs add, you'll have a game that's compatible with some of the more awesome and useful hacks as well.

Yeah, but last time I tried installing them it didn't work right and I ended up losing everything when I uninstalled so no way am I trying that again.

That's why we recommend that you create a backup of your save game before installing a new EP:
