View Full Version : Inactive Sims Won't Change Out of Work Clothes

I have a town that has multiple households of my created sims and when I have one invite another over, the inactive sim is still in their work clothes and does not change out of them. Part of the reason I put these sims in the same town is so I could see them as I made them. I know that some mods can fix this, but I'm worried about them as AwesomeMod doesn't appear to be able to be removed without a full reinstall of the Sims 3. If anyone has any advice please help.

when you say they do not change out of their work outfit, do you mean they "won't" or they "can't"? if it's the former, there are many ways to make them change an outfit. I don't have AwesomeMod, I use MasterController, but I'm pretty sure that Awesome has a feature where you can click on a sim and change their outfit. If it's the latter, you may have a conflicting or outdated mod. Doublecheck them to see if any need updating to your current patch.

Ever since the Showtime patch, when they added the ability to customize work outfits, Sims don't seem to want to automatically change outfits anymore, so sometimes you have to give them a little nudge.

You can also do this with MasterController (http://nraas.wikispaces.com/MasterController) using the outfit option in either the basic or intermediate option.

StoryProgression (http://nraas.wikispaces.com/StoryProgression) also has an option under the career section to force change work clothes so all sims will change automatically without you manually doing it.

He means "won't", they just waltz around town in their work clothes for all eternity unless he goes into their household and changes them back manually, which doesn't work because they just change into their work clothes again the next time they go to work. It happened to me too, I ended up just installing a global "no uniform to work" mod...

Twallan's Dresser mod might help with that.

This is a normal occurrence without mods. I use Twallan's dresser mod, which ensures that all sims are wearing the appropriate clothing in the appropriate place. It's nice.

Thank you everyone for all of your suggestions, seems like the dresser mod might be my best bet. If that doesn't work for me for some reason maybe I'll try MasterController. Thanks against for all of your help guys, this was really irritating me. I spend a lot of time making my sims, and I would like to see them as I created them.

Which setting do you use to get them to do that? I downloaded the mod but can't figure out how to have them change.

Default setting is fine. Just give it time to check the townies clothes. Or if you're impatient then click 'check outfit' in the mod to trigger it.
