Have you ever felt like controlling another family in your neighborhood, but didn't want to leave you main Sim's household alone? I'm like that, too. I just don't want anything to happen while I'm gone; I guess I'm just used to the Sims 2 play style. So, do you ever find it hard to leave a family for another?

Lot of options in Twallan's Story Progression and/or Awesomemod to get some control over that ;) Including full on TS2 style gameplay, or just keeping major changes from happening only to families you want to come back to. I'd recommend looking into it if you want to experiment with this :)

I make a copy of the saved game and play the second family in a separate save. Your friends may need to conduct an intervention to get you started.

For this reason I have over 70 save [as...] files for one family/neighborhood to play out how a situation would work if I had done it differently. This also doubles as a great backup in-case something horrible/unwanted happens.
