It's a hack causing this problem
not sure which one but I had the same probelm I removed all the hacks from my downloads folder. A slew of new college animations opened up

Have you tried clicking on the Sim and choosing College - Go To Class?

that option 'College - Go To Class' never shows up

Must be a hack problem like BonesChapel said then.

Do you know what hack might be causing this? This will be very helpful for all. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I thought the taxi or whatever was supposed to show up on it's own. ugh. I hope someone figures all this out. :)

I don't know what's wrong with my sims but one after another kept on dying as if they are ill. It always happened when they are suppose to go for class. Therefore i'm going to delete all the hacks to see if it works.

Problem 1 - Not going to class: this appears to be due to all hacks that have changed a particular pie menu file.
(For modders, it is specifically Group # 7F01EC29 Instance 0081 - the semi-global social pie menu function file)
I must thank twojeffs, for finding that problem so quickly!

The only two hacks that I can think of right now is my Teen Woohoo 6 and the moveinall hack. I am not familiar with many of the other hacks, so I can't list any others right now.

Problem #2 - Sudden death: this seems to be due to one of the InSIMenator versions. I believe it's the SIM version (as opposed to the DEST or the OBJ version) - it was causing spontaneous suicide while the sim is on his way to class. (The pressures of college life!)
Actually - I just looked at the InSIMenator's code and I think the problem is partially caused by the same pie-menu file.

This shouldn't be hard to fix and I am working on the Woohoo 6 problem now - the only issue is that SIMPE keeps giving me an error message when I try to open that particular file. I might have to give up for tonight and try again tomorrow.

I hope this helps.
Anyone else, feel free to correct me if any of this information isn't quite accurate. Good luck!

Ah, I don't have teen woohoo so it must be moveinall in my case.

Another question, do days of the week exist in the university town and do they ever get weekends or days off? If so, how can you tell?

I do hope the creators of these hacks will rectify the problems associated with their creations soon. No pressure, though. :D

Maybe a separate thread should be started to keep up with found problems and corrections thereof.

Well with being able to send any teen off to college and controll them, including townies and service npcs like cashiers, I don't think moveinall is as important now, but it would still be nice to have and handy in some situations, like if a separated parent living on another lot wants their child to come live with them etc.

I removed all my hacks. I am not sure which one was the culprit. WHen I finally removed moveinall, that seemed to fix the sims not going to class issue. But I think all the global hacks have something to do with it. So I am not putting them back until the creators of these hacks fix the problems. I have confidence that they will. I'm patient, so I can wait.

The hack I want more than anything is the preg4all hack though. I cannot play my Gay Legacy family without it. No rush though. I'm having fun exploring University life at the moment anyway. :)

Jen I have fixed my version by just removing this Pie and also the corresponding String. Only thing I used it for was to allow Teens to MoveIn/Marry. So that will have to be sacrificed for now. At the time that you inherited my mod, I don't believe I had utilized that Pie. It is the main pie menu for when the active Sim is clicked. So if you can remember why you would have referenced it, or refer to the strings that go with it to refresh your memory, you might be able to just remove it for now, depending on what you used it for.

Hi. I had the problem of students not going to class. I removed all "RED" items that showed up in Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer. I went back and tried again, and it still is not working. I'm guessing I didn't remove the right files? Or do I have to completely reinstall now? Please help, I'm not good with this kind of stuff.

I had this problem with a university sim that I had made, she had nothing in her job thing, no major, no class time or anything and I didn't get an option on the phones or the computers to declare a major.
This all happened after I had loaded her in simPE to edit her personality and stuff.
I took out all my downloads to be sure it was nothing in there causing the problem and the problem was still there. So I made a new college sim and didn't edit her in simPE but instead used the mind control mirror in game and all went well, even with all my downloads put back where they belonged.
So don't edit your uni sims using simPE if you want them to actually attend class.

Hi!

I get a similar problem as those listed above, but with an interesting variation:

The radial menu when clicking a player sim does not contain a 'college' option but instead has a 'spawn' button with 'memory manager' buttons attached to that. The buttons function as they are scipted, ie, go to class, rap on the sidewalk, and do assignment, but which one is what is a mystery as they all share the 'memory manager' label.

I have removed all the files from the downloads folder and restored the *.exe file to the origional backup, but no success.... anyone have any thoughts?

The spawn menu problem can be cause by any of the teen woohoo packages or the teen woohoo preg4all package. (The plain preg4all package seems fine, but is no longer posted.) There may be other hacks as well that are causing them. It seems that putting one of these "not made for Sims 2 University" hacks into the downloads folder may actually alter the behavior files of the game itself. So you will have to reinstall to get the files back the way they are supposed to be. So if you want to play Sims 2 University, the best bet is just not to install ANY hack that doesn't say it works with UV!

I'm having this issue aswell, the only hack i've ever used is "teen woowho".

Teens that don't woowhoo is extreamly unrealistic, even for a game >< ... makes me wonder if i should just wait for a fix before playing Uni ... teen sex or a pool table...hmmmm, tough call =p

Does it matter when they don't go to class, like will they still graduate? I don't get any go to class options either. But I just thought I was too late clicking on the sims, I read in the booklet you have to click on them on the hour. I also can't find any hacks in my downloads folder, just a bunch of clothes, objects and meshes. Do meshes count as hacks?   (sorry if I'm a bit off topic.)
