The Pond in July (Small Update)
 

It has been so unbearably hot the past week that all I could think of was of a nice cool retreat from the heat. And here it is - the pond in July
I placed the objects form the Pond Collection under the category Build Garden Centre, but actually some of them are found under different categories in the game catalogue.
Items in Build Mode - Garden Centre:
The Sacred Lotus - 948 polys
4 recolours
Bog arum - 926 polys - 2 recolours (First image)
Mosaic Plant - 656 polys - 3 recolours (5th image)
Thalia Dealbata - about 900 polys -no recolours
Taro - 752 polys - 4 recolours
Pagoda Rocks - 640 polys - 5 recolours matching the stone texture of the waterfalls
Required Eps - none
Known Issues - none

Items in Buy Mode
Ground Plants: These are under Decorative Plants in the game catalogue.
Aubretia - a ground cover plant for rockeries - 1140 polys - 3 recolours
Trillium - a ground cover plant - 1080 polys - 4 recolours
Vincas - a ground cover plant - 1070 polys - 2 recolours

The Four Plants rar contains:
Fritillaria - 1128 polys - 3 recolours
Border Lilies - 1102 polys - 4 recolours
Cleome - 1056 polys - 3 recolours
Verbascum - 1014 polys - 4 recolours




Pond Border Stones - 734 polys; 4 recolours
Required EPs - none
Known Issues - none

The Waterfalls and the Floating Hippo Fountain:
These can be found under Decorative Sculptures
Floating Hippo Fountain - 1416 polys - 352 per tile; no recolours
Required EPs - University
Known Issues - none
Features - fully animated; can be placed on the water surface without cheats
The Function "Add Soap" has been disabled; Th hippo occupies 4 tiles. Make sure that you have 4 tiles free so that you can place the hippo on the pond surface without any cheats. You don't need to make the bottom of the pond even. And of course, you can always use the moveobjects on cheat to place the plants nearer the hippo fountain.

Cascading Waterfall - 1899 polys - about 475 per tile; 3 recolours;
Small (Pool) Fountain(second image) - 1002 polys - about 250 per tile; 3 recolours;
Required EPs - Nightlife and the Glamour Life Pack
Known Issues - the waterfalls are bigger than the 4 tiles they occupy. Place them at the edge of the pond or in the water, so that the sims won't pass through them.
Features: both are fully animated. They can be placed on the water surface without using any cheats.

Features - fully animated, designed to be placed on water surfaces or on terrain. The animation for the waterfall is different from that of the other two, because I had to use only effects from the base game.

Small update (02.07.07) I added the sound of running water to the Base Game Waterfall for a more realistic effect. The new file is Waterfall BaseGameWithSound.rar. Please note that you cannot have both the old and the new package file in your Downloads folder because they share the same GUIDs. If you decide to have the waterfall with the sound effect, just replace the existing file with the new one, when prompted.

Update 05.07.07 Thanks for telling me about the GUID conflict for the Floating Hippo Fountain and the Pond Border Stones. The files have been replaced with the correct ones. Please replace the older files with the new ones, because the old files overwrite the original Maxis objects. Accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

This is one of the most beautiful set that I've seen for the sims 2 in a long time. Everything is gorgeous and you even have working waterfalls!! Definitely first time I've seen anyone make them; I've had many lots that I think just don't look the same without a waterfall.

It was late but I wanted to test it before going to bed. It's marvelous ! I was confused with the 2 types of the rocks (pagoda and border stones) but the result in a short creation time is impressive. Bravo Macarossi !! I've noted the names (and the essential informations ^^) for create a collection with this stunning work and tomorrow I will remanage this little parc. But sincerly you deserve this quick featuring ! A lot of thanks !

you can download only the Base Game one. Be warned though, the animations for that waterfall are different, because I had to use only effects available in the base game. If you have University, you can also download the Hippo fountain.

I attempted to d/l, and the cascading waterfall - pool collection file says that it comes to an unexpected end of archive when I attempt to open it.. Is anyone else having this problem? or is it just me? I have tried 4 x now, with no luck.

Out of everything I have seen (and with a hippo too) this work is the most exquisite!!! I downloaded the pond the second I saw it. I have it in my game now, and it looks spectacular! The only thing is the hippo which does show up in statues won’t “place”. I do have all the games, so am I doing something wrong? I want to make mine as perfect as yours, but I can’t seem to place the hippo. I really like hippo’s too. Can you help me on this? And THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
