Torrox Spanish/Southwestern Build Set Part 7 - Wall Cut-outs

6 Attachment(s)

This is Part 7 of the Torrox Spanish/Southwestern Build Set – Wall Cut-outs and Accessories

Basically it’s a hole in the wall. But it’s a nicely shaped hole in the wall and it can be recolored so that it fits almost any wall you’d like to use for your house. On top of that you can spruce it up with a nice wrought iron railing or a wooden window sill with slots.

I’m talking about wall cut-outs. Of which this set has four – two that work as windows, and two that work as doors/archways. All four have diagonal versions.

IMPORTANT!
The wall cut-outs are slaved to the Torrox fake staircase/balcony in THIS THREAD, so you must have that in your game to them work. They also take their recolors from it, so you must have the fake staircase/balcony recolors in your game to get the cut-out recolors shown above. The recolors (shown above) match the Torrox Walls in Part 4 of this set.

NOTE!
The cut-outs can be easily recolored to match any wall you’d like to use. See the explanation at the bottom of the master thread to find out how to do that.

ACCESSORIES
Then on to the accessories: Wooden sills for the windows and wrought iron railings for the archways.

There are two window sills – a single width and a double, and they both have diagonal versions. The sills have slots where you can place lamps, plants and other deco objects. Use ‘M’ to toggle between them. There are three slot on the single width sill and six on the double width one.

IMPORTANT!
The window sills are slaved to the Torrox two storey window in THIS THREAD, so you must have that in your game to them work – and its recolors if you want the window sill recolors shown above.

There are also two railings – again a single and a double and again with diagonal versions. If you have problems placing the double diagonal railing try using the cheat ‘moveobjects on’.

IMPORTANT!
The railings are slaved to the Torrox fake staircase/balcony in THIS THREAD, so you must have that in your game to them work.

Oh my! I remember when you were thinking of doing window grills, and that seems to have grown into this enormous project. It makes me dream of travel to Latin destinations, which is impressive, given that I hate the heat. It all looks very well made and lovely. This will be perfect for my Southwestern desert 'hoods. Thanks so much!

Moune -- so good to see you! I kind of dropped out of the simming community. Began to get frustrated & bored with the (my) creative limits on Sims3 and went back to Sims2. Decided to check out what was new and here you are.

I love the potential of this set. They are downloading as I type. Hope all is well with you and Screamer. It seems like it was only a few months ago that he was a new born, but I know it has been longer than that.

Wow! What a fantastic set! This looks very much like the older architecture where I live. I can only suggest two small additions-the wooden support rafters that often protrude through the building's roof facade, and the decorative roof edges that alwys remind me of a fortress or castle ( I don't know what they are called). Those minor things aside, this is a great set, and I look forward to your next offering.

Let it be known that I love you for this set.
It's about time we had some awesome southwest build items...considering maxis didn't provide much for us there..

This is the way EA should have been doing this all along- repositories for everything. What a great set! I have some ideas for recolors, if that's ok.

I absolutely love this entire collection!

This collection is very useful for lot builders. Constantly having to piece things together is a bit of a nuisance in design world, so to have complete build sets is wondrous!

Not to mention your design transcends the Southwestern style. It can be used for many architectural styles and periods. I also love the wood colour you used as it is by far my favorite shade of brown wood (subdued - classic, yet rustic).

So thank you tremendously!
