Basic Fences - normal 3 Attachment(s) There are 10 normal fences on the set. They are grouped to sets: Basic Fence 1-4 (vertical planks) Basic Fence Horizontal 1-3 (thick planks) Basic Fence Horizontal 4-6 (narrow planks) The fences are partially clones of each other, so they all work together next to each other. All fences have 3 channels, except Basic Fence 1 that only has 2. Cause of some weird reason, that one didn't co-operate with me, so the channels are also the wrong way. Wood patterns (beige, brown, grey) are the objects preset patterns. |
Basic Columns and Beams 4 Attachment(s) There are 12 columns in the set, grouped as follows: Basic Column 1-4 Basic Column Rectangular 1-4 Basic Column Thick 1-4 And 3 beams: Basic Beam 1-3 The columns are made so, that you can stack any other height of the same type on top of the fullwallheight one, seamlessly (please make sure ones on top of each other face same way). They are also slight thicker than the fence poles, so you can use these with the fences. The beams are shiftable, and also require moveobjects on-cheat. All of these items have one recolourable channel. Wood patterns (beige, brown) are the objects preset patterns. |
Basic Fences - Roofing 5 Attachment(s) There are 5 roofing fences on the set: Basic Fence Roofing 1 Basic Fence Roofing 2 Basic Fence Roofing Narrow 1 Basic Fence Roofing Narrow 2 Basic Fence Roofing Narrow 3 These are meant to use only on second floor up from ground, and higher! They are floor level and height, so placing them to ground will make them disappear underground. If you do place them on ground and can't delete afterwards, don't come complaining at me, I have warned you! There are plenty of ways and combinations on how to use these, I took a few pictures to show it better. Ideal for ceiling windows and terrace roofs. The roofing fences have 2 channels, but due to linking textures of all items, only the second one is usable. Wood patterns (beige) are the objects preset patterns. |
Build Set - DIY UPDATED 10th Sept. 2012! 24 Attachment(s) THIS UPLOAD HAS BEEN UPDATED, PLEASE SEE NOTES
One should never touch meshing programs! This set got started when I wanted to make a proper fullwallheight column to use in my game, that would tile seamlessly when put on top of itself. That one was relatively fast to make, but was I happy? No! I needed to make other heights, that would work with CFE'd walls. So I made those variations. Then it hit me. Beams! I have always loved how you can shift stuff up and down on walls, so I made a beam that could do the same, to go with the columns. Was I happy with what I made again? No! I had to make two other sizes. So now I had 4 columns and 3 beams to go with them. I wasn't still satisfied, something was missing, and then I thought - Why not make fences, I have never made any. So I took a dive to mysterious world of fence making. It took a few tries, but soon I had a nice counterheight fence, that worked nicely with both the columns and the beams. So once again, I had to make more variations - Resulting 2/3- and fullwallheight fences. As a stubborn person, I had to make more fences of course, but this time with horizontal planks. So I made 3 fences with thick planks. Then I wanted ones with narrow planks, and made those too. About half the time I was Skyping with Tom and Kayla, and occasionally also Qbuilderz. Tom was bugging me all the time with requests for roofing fences and different columns, but I told him that I might do them at some point. Then Q started talking about roofing fences too, so I thought, I guess I can make some. So I started exploring how to make the roofing fences, and to make it more difficult, so that they would be floor level and -height. I made one version, showed it to the guys, and they liked it, so I made 4 other versions too, to make it more interesting. Then I thought, why not make Tom the columns he so much wants, so I did those too. I also tried to do a gate, but I have to say, that was too much for my nerves... ...Stupid joints... So I decided, 30 objects for a set is quite enough for one Finn to make at a time. The set was done ![]() Now cause I have a lousy memory, I can't remember at which point Lee told me about linking all the objects to one texture package. So after a little while of investigating and testing, I figured how to do it. Actually, at that point I had 11 objects, each 2MB of size, and after linking the textures, I had reduced the total package sizes to little under 3MB. I can't count how much the total reduce for all items is, cause I'm bad at maths :P Then, at the end when I had all the packages done, Dal and Lee poked me about combining the packages. So I did so, thanks to them for the idea! I hope that you managed to read this tldr-text, and I wish that you enjoy the set! I know I will ![]() Now if you just have enough strength left, please carry on reading about the objects ![]() Build Set - DIY
Also know as "Do it yourself - Bitches!" (a lovely name by Dal xD) Please press the button to show all object information! Please also see first comments for more pics and info about the object types individually! ![]() All of the items are Base game compatible. To be able to shift the beams up and down you also need patch 1.17/2.12/3.8/4.5/5.2/6.0 or higher. If you want all of the items, download both armiel_Build Set - DIY_pack1 and armiel_Build Set - DIY_pack2. These include all the objects and texture files. You can also choose just one of these. Contents of packs: 1. Basic beams, -columns and -fences 2. Basic columns rectangular and thick, -fences horizontal narrow and thick, -fences roofing. Should you want only some of the items, pay attention to this: - There are 2 texture files. Without these items WILL NOT WORK, cause the textures are linked to reduce filesizes. - The rars have a number at the end of their names. These tell you which texture packs you need to download. - The texture packs are: armiel_Build Set - DIY_textures1 and armiel_Build Set - DIY_textures2 Not in any specific order... Lee, for poking me to make all the items to use same texture files by linking them. Inge and OrangeMittens for helping with changing the names and descriptions afterwards. Kayla and Tom, for hours and hours of listening me whine. Q, for listening that above some of the time ,and for all the ooh's and aah's Tom also for making me the cute cottage picture for upload using my items! Kayla, Dal and Traelia for testing. Dal and Lee also for mentioning combining packages. #create, Whitey, HP, heaven, levini, adrisole, and everyone else that might have commented on them. Terribly sorry if I forgot someone. Programs and programmers: Inge and Peter for S3PE and S3OC Delphy, for Dashboard (where would my sanity be without it, when having to delete the caches all the time!) TSRW Milkshape, Blender Obj.Tool UVmapper, Lithunwrap Photoshop and Paint.NET and finally Skype, a great place to whine!! NOTES 10.9.2012 Woooops, the beams had the white issue too. A FIXED file has been added. Same instructions as below. Sorry 'bout this hassle. 30.8.2012 I FINALLY fixed the basic columns, which had some -whiteness- issue when you viewed them off-lot/in edit town/in CAW. I added a new file containing the fixed columns: armiel_FIXED_columns_normal.rar Download it and extract it to the same folder you put the original files. It will ask you to overwrite - do so. Then clear your caches, and you're ready to use them! When you load the game, every basic column you had placed has been replaced with fixed pretty version. ![]() Please note that the combined part1 containing multiple parts of the set is still the same, so you need to get the columns fix, too! |
Amazing! I love all your stuff Armiel! |
This set is beyond useful! I can't wait to get some content created using these wonderful build mode items Again, awesome job, friend :D |
Oooooo! I just snagged the DIY packs & textures. I can't wait to use these. They look perfect! ...off to build... Thank you! |
Yay! So lovely! |
:O Yes! Thank you Armi for these. I can't wait to improve my homes with these. And I rarely download CC |
ah,nice!!! With upcoming pets addon I have the possibility to build a barn for the horses we might have! |
OMG, this is so cool! :D One question: do you allow to include this set (or some parts) with lots? There will be plenty people using it, and it would be hard for downloaders to recreate everything that lot builders have shown in their pics if it won't be included. |

You can use these items on an upload, as long as the upload is free. Then just link the downloaders to this thread so that they can download my objects. ![]() You are not allowed to actually upload my files with a lot, that's a nono. |
amazing thanks so much |
Such a huge set! There are so may ways to use this! I especially like the roof fences. Thank you! |
Thank you for sharing this! |

You have done such a great job, that I am just able to tell you a HUGE Thank you for sharing your hard work and your fantastic talent with us. A big hug. |
Thank you all!! ![]() |
Woah, whoever made that blue cottage is awesome.. *shifty look* OH. it was ME! :P Nah, these are all fantastic, and also, you make it sound like I held a gun to your head and told you to do it all I didn't.. Thats for the next set.. *another shifty look*I specifically love the whole.. way they join up. I know YOU'VE seen what I did with them, but I think that a lot of people will love it, when I finish getting it absolutely perfect of course, and I think that it will all be due to this VERY ingenious BIG set. (I had written small instead of big... didn't sound right) Anyways.. Can't wait to see what we think of next right? You're the creator, but Q, Kayla, and I are the brains.. Well. Half of them.. You're the other half.*hugz :P* |
So when I first stumbled across this I was intrigued to say the least, but I certainly did not expect to find 30 new meshes! This set is incredible and incredibly useful, I don't usually download CC unless I specifically need it for a building, but this is a must have for my game! You've really outdone yourself with this and there is not a single object here that I wouldn't use.I also really like the clean lines and shapes that you've gone for, it doesn't limit them to just one style or genre, as you've shown through your pictures they have universal uses across lots of building types. Well done on such a large undertaking as well, I admire anyone who is able to create a set as large as this without throwing their computer out the window! I know I certainly can't Also one last bit of rambling (because I could keep going all day like this), I'm actually really excited to put these in my game and play around with them and see what I can come up with! These are just what EA needed to bring out with BG, and if they had released this as an EP I would have paid good money for it!I love it! Thank you! ![]() |
Well, this is a great little gem. There is no way that I cannot use these when creating lots. Great job here ![]() |
I loved !! thanks!! |
This is absolutely fantastic Armi!! I can't wait to download and play around with it in my game! Thank you so much and what a wonderful idea! |
