All credits give to Embyr311, who created this kind of mod.

I upload a updated Add Traits in Regular Menu mod. You can download it if you want.
So all you need to is to download one version of More Traits Mod and the Add Traits in Regular Menu mod. In case any confusion.

Since Embyr311 has not been updated their original mod for the toddler patch for a while and the original mod makes toddlers' trait disappeared, I have decided to make updated versions of the mod.
----
You can add/ remove Trait to Sim by cheats

For child or above age traits, you can use these two cheats:

Use ctrl+shift+C
Type "testing chests on"
Type "traits.equip_trait trait_<traitnameNoSpaces>"

And remove Trait from Sim by
Type "traits.remove_trait trait_<traitnameNoSpaces>"

The <traitnameNoSpaces> can be found here:

Type "traits.equip_trait <traitnameNoSpaces>"

And remove Trait from Sim by
Type "traits.remove_trait <traitnameNoSpaces>"

The <traitnameNoSpaces> can be found here:

OR

You can use Embyr311's Add Traits In Regular Menu Mod which makes the Add/Remove Traits option available without using cheats. I highly recommend you to use my mod with it because it's so much easier to add/ remove traits with it. The link is down below :
http://modthesims.info/d/537389

However, some people are afraid the old one might be broken. It still works for me. Anyway, I upload a updated version with minor edits here.

----
This mod is compatible with custom traits like my Sarcastic Trait as you can see in the image.
And Traits from Reward Store, Hidden Traits,Traits from completing child and adult aspirations and Traits given by chosen aspiration are not counted as the additional CAS (personality) Traits if you are worried.
NPC sims generated will have the number of traits stated by the package.
----

There are 15 options you can choose from.

Only put ONE package of More Traits Mod you want in your mod file.
Remove Embyr311's original mod before you put the new one if you decided you use my versions or it will not work.

Thanks for creating the original mod to Embyr311 again!

Basic Download and Install Instructions:
1. Download: Click the File tab to see the download link. Click the link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
Read the upload description for installation instructions. If nothing else is specified, do the following:
No Extraction Required (Script Mods):
1. Cut and paste the .zip file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
Script mods need to be placed directly in \Mods or one level below that (e.g. \Mods\Scripts) – sub-folders nested any deeper won’t work.
Extraction Required (Everything Else):
1. Use WinRAR (Windows) to extract the .package file(s) from the .rar or .zip file(s).
2. Cut and paste the .package file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\

Need more information?
  • Anyone can use both .rar and .zip files easily! On Windows, use WinRAR.
  • If you don't have a Mods folder, just make one.
  • Mod still not working? Make sure you have script mods enabled

That'd be awesome! Like I said, it was a lifesaver before, and I'd rather not use the outdated version, if I can help it. Too many mods to sift through to figure out which one it's messing with or BEING messed with that I've already updated, especially when I seem to be having an issue with GrayCurse's mod on top of it. Better to be safe than sorry after so much stuff got screwed up in past updates, especially this one!

so this mod only enables us to assign extra traits, there is no menu to pull up to click on the traits we want, we must type them in manually?

That's always been my understanding without having the mod I mentioned earlier, Embyr311's "Add More Traits in Regular Menu". Seems like more of a hassle without Embry's mod in addition, so I never did it manually - hence why I'm biting my nails waiting on ANY update to hers, rather than risking something going screwy with the old mod.

ah okay I was just coming back to edit my comment, I realized suddenly that I needed to download that package from Embry to get the menu to show up....

I did't realize the "Add More Traits In Regular Menu" was a separate download on Embry's page, after all the other options. I got it all working now, thanks.

Add traits via menu aka Add Traits in Regular Menu mod is updated and uploaded. Even though the old one seems working for me but I see some people are worried that it may cause bugs. Also toddler can't add traits when you control them directly with the old one. So I upload one with a few minor edits. You can download it here now if you prefer.

While this modder has uploaded a new version of the menu mod; the menu mod, to my understanding, simply makes an existing Debug Cheat menu available at all times. If you ever have trouble with the menu mod in the future you can access the cheat menu WITHOUT MODS so long as you have Testing Cheats(and also Debug Cheats I believe) turned on. It is found by [shift] + clicking on your sim and should be in the "Cheat Sim Info" sub menu. The only trouble is that --if I am right about it being a Debug Cheat-- I do not know how to turn these on without MC Command Center. My MCCC settings have Testing and Debug Cheats on at all times, so I do not have to worry about knowing the cheat to find it.

I hope this helps for anyone who wants to go mod light or who experiences issues with the menu mod in the future.

[Edit] I tried looking up the Debug Cheats console command and, as with previous times, I only seem to find mods which turn debug cheats on. I'm certain there must be a console command for this, but no one who knows seems to be sharing. Perhaps someone else would have better luck. Personally I find having debug cheats quite useful sometimes. It helps tune my story for a particular game and correct/work around game bugs sometimes. This is why I use MCCC to keep Testing and Debug Cheats on at all times.

Yup. That's why the menu mod is always an optional choice.

If a trait mod was not updated for the November patch, could I technically still access it through this mod's menu, despite it not being in the CAS menu?

EDIT: I got V8, the most recent update, but the menu isn't coming up when I click on my sim. It used to work fine, what am I missing?

Did you download the Add Traits In Regular Menu Mod.rar ? You also need to download and extract it and then put the package in your mod folder. You need to download one version of More Traits Mod and one Add Traits in Regular Menu mod if you want to add them in menu

And for your first question. Nope. All traits mods is broken both in gameplay and CAS. They need to be fixed by modders with lots of changes in xmls. Like my Sarcastic traits are now fixed and updated. If you want to fix a cc trait, here is a useful tutorial I've found. https://simsvip.com/2017/11/15/cust...ompatible-pets/
