Update - November 11, 2007 - A couple of people have reported a crash on loading this house, and when I checked, the file crashed for me too. However, the furnished version (identical house, separate thread) appears to be fine.
I have repackaged the unfurnished house below, and it loads fine in testing. As the terrain paints had disappeared, I have done them again, but they are not exactly as pictured, sorry. The house itself has not changed. PLEASE RE-DOWNLOAD. Please report if something is broken - I can't fix it unless I know. Welcome to Stony Lake... Bring that special someone for a quiet weekend getaway, or retreat from civilization for a family break by the lake. Although the price is at the top end for first-home buyers, make-shift furnishings will do for the beginning, and this beautiful property is worth the wait. The lucky purchaser won't regret the mortgage while relaxing in their own private waterhole. Stony Lake is sheltered by willows and dotted with lillies and reeds. The climate is perfect for year-round swimming. The residence is cosy and rustic, from its stone footings to the pitched roofline. Above the foundations, the house is panelled with wood, in need of painting but sound. Tall paned windows add distinction, and luxuriant roses bloom around the entry. From the sheltered porch, visitors enter the lounge. This light-filled room offers views of the water, with a wide archway leading to the tiled dine-in kitchen. French doors from the country-style kitchen open onto a stone patio, perfect for al fresco dining or entertaining. Steps from the patio access the swimming platform. (This is a view of the living floor, with furnishings - see below for the unfurnished photos.) Tucked behind the kitchen is a full-sized bathroom, made by converting the old laundry and downstairs toilet into one space. A staircase in one corner of the loungeroom leads upwards, to where the residents can restore their energies. The master bedroom is comfortable, with space for wardrobes or nursery furniture. There is also private access to the bathroom at the head of the stairs. Two single bedrooms also open off the landing. These rooms are small, but feature interesting nooks and country views. The grey exterior of the house is relieved inside with red carpets and refreshing light paintwork. Notes for Players: No furniture is packaged with the starter version. (The furnished house is available in a separate thread - http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=244923.) 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms Unfurnished cost $19,072 The house has been playtested for about seven sim-days. Please report if something is broken. Enjoy! Just the Bast's tutorial is here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=158216 Thanks also to many others, whose tutorials on pretty much everything have taught me so much about building for The Sims. Thanks to all the makers of custom build items, without whom building would be a lot less fun. 514 people have said thanks to aelflaed for this download.
