This is a 5x6 residetial lot. total cost is $249,855....
(que up the music from "The Magnificent Seven"...) During the 1930's and 40's, kids could go to the local theatre to see "serial" westerns with Tom Mix, Randolph Scott and John Wayne. It was an exciting way to spend a Saturday afternoon and 5cents. In 1939, John Ford wrote and directed the movie "Stagecoach", starring John Wayne as "the Ringo Kid" and Claire Trevor as the tainted barroom angel, "Dallas". 2 Oscars were gleaned from the effort; one for John Ford, the other to Thomas Mitchell for his supporting-actor portrayal of "Doc Boone".
From that point on, the movie Western was no longer delegated to the ranks of the "B" movie and John Wayne was, (after already having performed in 100 films while attending USC on a football scholarship) catapulted to the ranks of Hollywood Celebrity.
Instead of filming on the studio's over-used back lots where every western looked like every other western, John Ford chose to film in the awesome "monument valley" in Arizona. He used local Native American residents as the "Indians" rather than going the traditional route of white actors in dark facepaint. It wasn't "Dances with Wolves", but it was a small step in the right direction.

This lot is playable as a residence. There are furnished apartments on the top floor of the "Diamond Belle" and above the Sheriff's office and jail. (there is a telephone located in the telegraph office over the barber shop. ) It also includes a general store, livery stable, bank, boot hill,(no ghosts...remember, this is Hollywood) gallows, and a small church.
