I think with Ambitions, our mods go in My Docs, not Prog Files.. I have ambitions and actually have had my mods in prog files til just the other day. I then updated my resource.cfg and put them where they belong.. You gotta update the resource.cfg to get it to work right if you haven't messed with it in a long time, like me. If you don't have ambitions, I think it's a bit different. Would have to read install instructions for other EP's, I'm not familiar enough with them to try to help you. Might mess ya up.

So, if you have Ambitions, you should have mods/packages under *my documents/electronic arts/sims3* and the resource.cfg in mods folder there.
Not necessarily in the ep folders.. Hope that helped someone.

Under *if patched*: Before you can put the .package files in your game, you'll need to set up your game to accept custom content. With the 1.12 patch and later, this is very easy!

Step 1: Mods Folder
First, you'll need to make a folder called "Mods" in the right place.

Go to The Sims 3 Folder in My Documents: Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

The Mods folder showing in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ (click image for full size)Create Mods Folder: Right-click in an empty space in the folder and choose New > Folder. Call this new folder "Mods".

Step 2: Resource.cfg
You will need a file called resource.cfg - this is just a simple file containing some text that tells the game where to look for custom content.

(go to the link to get the actual file, this is just text) Download resource.cfg Right-click on this resource.cfg link and choose "Save As". Save the resource.cfg file into your newly-created Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\ folder.

does this work with ambtions 4.2.32

You only need one. Which one you need is based on game version.


NoMosaicAMB will work with 4.2. If you have the newest patch you need NoMosaicFLS (even if you don't have Fast Lane Stuff).


The correct No Mosaic you should use is based on game version, not which expansion or stuff packs you have. Naming them based on the packs was a bad idea on my part and has led to a bit of confusion. I updated the main page of the mod so it should be clearer now.

Out of curiosity, does anyone play with a game version older than 1.12/2.7/3.3/4.0?

No older version here, sorry.. I did just get Fast Lane (wish I'd waited since it's just a stuff pack, could've been cheaper lol) but I came back in because I saw it'd been updated (the file for no mosaic) and I have the version from before Fast Lane SP. Thanks for the update!!!!

My launcher is 4.3, but I don't have FLS. I would still need the latest version of this right? The one that says FLS instead of AMB, right?

Thanks for keeping the Ambitions version up. I don't plan on installing Fast Lane until after Late Night comes out and all my other mods are updated.

I have all expansion Packs - but the No Mosaic (Fast Lane) does not work.
Iv´e looked if i had an old version or something else of the NoMosaic, but there is nothing...

Have I do something wrong by install the No Mosaic FLS to the Packages directory?

Ok, this mod is super-duper-ly awesome. However, some are completely nude, others where pants. None where shirts, but unless they take a bubble bath, it looks like they're never-FULLY-nude, with no shirt and pants. Did I mess up installation?

Just re-installed the game w/ all patches. I have w/a, hels & amb. Much of my custom content and mods, including the mosaic are not working. i believe I have all installed correctly & have framework installed. Suggestions?

When they bathe, it should be fully nude but using the potty you should see fully clothed but no blur. This simply removes the blur, not clothes.

i have the sims 3 base ,world adventures,ambitions and high life im at version 4.0.87.006001- i put the no mosaic for all packages in electronic arts/the sims3/downloads and a copy of each in the sims3/downloads/mods/packages i cant get the no mosaic to work any help is appreciated I also tried each one individually without success.

Seems to be covering the fishes in the new aquarium again in LN. There is going to be another version needed.

With just the latest patch but not yet got LN . With this mod ingame the speech and thought bubbles above a sims head are blank. removed this mod and they were fine again
