This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.

Name: ZOOLIE'S INTERSTELLAR CANTINA
Lot Size: 40 X 40
Lot Type: Dive Bar
Cost furnished: 152,048
Cost unfurnished: 71,463
EPs: All through IP
SPs: FLS
Store: Lots of it. See below for full list. (There is also a store- and cc-free option for download.)

Located next to the crystal shafts in the Lunar Lakes mountains, Zoolie's Interstellar Cantina is a complete dive, unfit for any but the hardiest immune systems. Despite its rundown, unsanitary conditions, it provides enough entertainment to separate the rough-and-tumble local miners from their weekly paychecks. More notoriously, it's far enough from the prying eyes of the settlement security teams to attract even less savory types like smugglers, who take advantage of the private alcoves to make deals of all sorts; pirates, who enjoy the dubious charms of the green girl in the basement; and itinerant spacers who are either haggling for parts and services for their ships, or who might just be addicted to the back patio's pineapple bubbles.

A savvy blue alien sells the ship parts and services from small stands lining the side wall of the cantina. Rumor has it some guy and a kid tried to fast talk him out of parts for a J-type 327 Nubian cruiser last week but he wasn't taken in by the hand-waving.

The interior first floor has a bar, several seating alcoves, and two all-in-one bathrooms. (No doubt the owner charges the miners for showers.) The second floor has another bar, another bathroom, a dominoes table, an arcade game, a robotic blackjack table, and a stage for jam sessions. In the basement there's a stereo and dance floor, plus a private bedroom for whatever it is that might transpire.

There is a lot of store stuff in here, and a bit of cc. The lot was done for the Groundwork Building Contest, and I was going for a very specific look. The good news is, most of the store items like particular lights, stools, deco, etc, can be easily replaced with something else or just left out if you don't have them. But be aware that the Monte Vista grimy wallpapers cover most of the walls, and your building will look odd without them.

If you don't have or want the store stuff and cc, download the (NS) version of the lot, which has been remodeled to remove all of that.

Lot Size: 3x3

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Congrats! So glad you got featured for this, it was very much deserved imo. I love it! In fact, I'm off to favourite it now.

I have a quick, sort of related question... I recently built a house that I'm thinking about uploading here but I loved your solar panel sun parasol idea so much that I used them in my build too (including the same pattern, I just coloured it slightly differently). The rest of the lot is of course, completely different but I wondered if you'd be offended at me copying your original idea or if you'd be ok with it? I would of course link back to this lot in the additional credits of my upload post and mention that the idea is yours

Zomigosh, no, I don't mind at all. I love your houses, especially that zombie apocalypse one, which was full of a ton of amazingly creative ideas. I'm really flattered you'd want to use one of my ideas in one of your builds.

Thanks for the congratulations!

This made me so happy I can't even tell you. I just wish someone would make Mandalorian armor.

Also, sidenote. I hear they're making the Innovations building into a cantina at Disneyland. I know someone who works in costuming, so I'm thinking it's true. She said they ordered the costumes and stuff. Awesome :D

Thank you for this -- it's really awesome! I placed it in the wasteland area in the future and it populated VERY quickly and fits in perfectly. It did develop a fun quirk though. About a sim-week after I placed the lot, the bottom level filled with water! I now have the options to swim and fish, though dancing on the dance floor is out :-)

Yes! Great lot...love it so much and want to use it to its fullest, but it has an indoor pond! How do you remove it?

Place it on higher ground or in a world with a lower water table, I think. I don't know exactly what you are seeing, but probably the problem is that part of the lot is sunken down compared to the rest. So if you place it somewhere where that sunken portion is lower than the lot's water level (that is, the level at which you would get a pond, basically) then you may get water in those sunken parts.

I've it placed in "Oasis Landing", in the "Into The Future" expansion pack. It's in the wasteland part of the world, in the middle. I turned the lot into a community lot. But, I think your suggestion holds truth. Since the wasteland is below the dam, I guess. Fits into the wasteland part of that world and makes a great addition, but I guess I can't use it there. Thanks for the tip, though

Yeah, I think that world is problematic for this lot. Someone else reported the same problem up thread with Oasis Landing. I don't have the EP yet so I can't test it or see if there's a fix for the problem there, sorry! Once I get the EP I will try to see whats going on more clearly.
