@ Nysha most files for me personally will open with Winrar, even as a 7-zip; however after you mentioned the 7-Zip i remembered that HugeLunatics Empire Bay windows addons also had to be opened with 7-Zip console and tried that with the sim file share link you posted and it worked.

Okay - must be a problem with WinRAR's handling of 7zs then, perhaps it doesn't like ultra compression. Sounds like using 7-zip is the answer! (and there is a regular graphical version of 7-zip, you don't have to figure out the console version - unless you want to)

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

I'm on a Mac. Obviously I cannot use WinRAR as that's a Windows product as is 7-Zip which explains why the files won't function for anyone using a Mac. Perhaps a more universally useable compression format would be better than the proprietary ones that only work with Windows so those of us who aren't Windows users can have the windows you made.

@zheyrryhn I usually recommend Keka for Mac users needing to use 7z files, but you can also use Stuffit Expander, Unarchiver or 7-zip for OS X. There are probably a load of other apps too, but those are the ones I know about!

Stuffit Expander would not open the files. I downloaded Unarchiver and that fixed my problem.

Wow, come back to sims2modding after a break and find the windows I've always wanted! And you did capture the spirit of those adverts wonderfully.

This looks like a very nice set. I look forward to being able to put windows in my sims' houses that are part of a single set. Fantastic!

Came to the comments hoping to find this, thank you!

These windows are fantastic and just the sort of all purpose style I needed, they're great!
