DJ Booths were introduced by the Nightlife expansion pack. Maxis made it so that Sims can autonomously use the DJ Booth on non-community lots. However, on community lots, sims cannot autonomously use the DJ Booth. They can only be directed by the player to use the DJ Booth. Why? Because, on community lots, the interaction on the DJ Booth changes to "Work as the DJ" which allows sims to make money. If sims were able to autonomously "Work as the DJ", you would see that even though they are not a part of the player's household, they would still make money, and that money would be credited to the player's family funds. Such a thing never happens on community lots, precisely because sims cannot autonomously perform that interaction.
The problem is that when Freetime was released, it added Secret Hobby Lots to the game. These lots are unique and are considered separate from community lots. Maxis never modified the DJ Booth code to make it so that sims on Secret Hobby Lots are also prevented from autonomously performing the "Work as the DJ" interaction. If you go to the Music & Dance Secret Hobby Lot, you'll see that sims will randomly start working as the DJ, making the player free money. This is an obvious oversight by Maxis. This mod simply adds a Secret Hobby Lot check to both of the DJ Booths (Nightlife & Freetime), so that sims cannot autonomously work as the DJ on Secret Hobby Lots.
This mod will not have any effect on custom DJ booths. You can look at how I edited the Maxis DJ Booths in this mod and copy the changes to custom DJ Booths if you want.
You obviously need Freetime to need this mod, as otherwise you would not have Secret Hobby Lots.
In order to unrar this mod, you need the latest version of 7zip or WinRar.
This mod modifies two resources in the objects.package file. Any other mod that modifies these same resources will conflict with this mod:
