computer still borked
Date Posted: 6th Mar 2012 at 06:18 AM
My poor PC is still borked. Had a nasty rootkit, seems it didn't get totally removed. Taking it back in, no creating 'til it's fixed. *sigh*

not dead ;)
Date Posted: 19th Feb 2012 at 12:04 AM
I'm not dead, just busy at work and my sims machine is currently in the shop, getting deborked. More stuff and possibly tool updates, maybe, when I get my machine back and get less swamped at work.

7/23 - Machine still in shop. It may be next month before I get to make stuff, but I've still go the itch to do it!

8/3 - It was SuckyROM! Probably. Can't say for sure. Was a rootkit of some sort, tech guys just killed it, didn't identify it. Perhaps if I had followed the SuckyROM removal instructions, this would not have happened, but I just thought my machine was being slow due to all the things I stuff it with. I shall be more vigilant in the future. Also, Avast deep scan once a week, not once a month... Bad Cat, no biscuit.

The lovely fakepeeps makes cute kids clothes, and the wonderful pinketamine separates them!
Head over to GoS if you haven't already to grab them.

T$R Workshop Beta EULA no longer applies?
Date Posted: 5th Feb 2012 at 01:05 AM
Read the T$R Workshop EULA. It forbids selling CC made with Workshop, because, um, it might be buggy, yeah, unless you sell it on T$R, and then it's totally okay. Well, Workshop hasn't been in Beta in a looong time, it's up to 2.x now. The very first line of the Workshop EULA says it is for the Beta version. So does that mean selling Workshop made CC on non-T$R paysites is no longer explicitly forbidden? Anyone know? I don't feel like slogging through T$R forums to look into this.

"may allow", uh-huh. Is that like Newsea "may" have gotten a raise and a private subscription area, but didn't, and then got booted?

Read an article recently about sociopath CEOs. The general population is about 1% sociopath, while CEOs are about 4% sociopaths. A sociopath is very charming on the surface, completely incapable of feeling any empathy nor guilt, lies pathologically, manipulates ruthlessly, refuses blame for wrongdoing, is very arrogant. (It's incurable, physical defect of the brain.) I'm not a medical professional, not qualified to diagnose anyone, and it could be that someone who seems sociopathic isn't, they're just a colossal asshat. I do wonder though.

so... many... skirts...
Date Posted: 31st Jan 2012 at 05:10 AM

I am slowly making my way through the Elder Clothing Project List. Can't stop making skirts. So many patterns! Must use them all! Must save some patterns for other meshes. In the meantime, have 12 more classic skirts with pumps, heels, and now wedges (yay wedges), and 8 more colors of the modern shirt, oepu style. Need to make recolors of existing meshes that don't look like my old stuff. Need to make more shirt meshes. Need to eventually make some stuff for poor underserved gramps. Must... stop... making... floral skirts... Finished 33 package files today. 1 mesh, 12 tuck skirts, 12 untuck skirts, 8 shirts. Oof. Forgive me, I got lazy and sloppy with the upload threads for these. Didn't put in my customary links to the shirts / pants shown, just wrote who made them. Didn't add drop shadows to most of the pictures either. They look totally fine, just not quite as pretty as usual. Didn't want to spend several more hours uploading. Next time, I'll pace myself. Or not. So much stuff to make!

_X_ floral skirts
_X_ patterned skirts
_X_ skirts with wedges
___ pants with wedge shoes, my landlady's black capris + leopard print red soled shoes
_X_ white/cream/black round collar shirts for granny
_X_ white/cream/black tanktops and Maxis blouses
___ short sleeve, button front shirts, open front, 3d untucked, for granny
___ more shirts for gramps, maybe short sleeve open untucked, maybe long sleeve untucked, maybe both
___ wide leg pants for granny, much like BlooM's slacks
___ shorts with *casual* shoes for gramps
___ rolled up carpenter pants with casual shoes for gramps
___ maybe some more default replacements

Elegant Heels for Granny!
Date Posted: 23rd Jan 2012 at 03:51 AM
I felt inspired to give granny some really nice shoes, after seeing this Sims3 thread.
So here's my attempt at Nice Heels. Swiped from a pants outfit.
Needed to add the entire top of the shoe, but should be nice when done!

The Hunger Sims
Date Posted: 20th Jan 2012 at 05:53 AM
Just finished reading The Hunger Games trilogy. Can't resist the dystopian novels! Read Animal Farm as a kid, and that didn't put me off. Some say the Hunger Games is too dark, too much of a downer. I disagree. It's far cheerier than 1984, and ends on much more of an upnote. War vets who have read it applaud its realism. I was drawn to the characters. They are painted in sparse strokes, not a symphony but melodies of a few notes, yet compelling for all that. They are very human, and some even humane. I have almost nothing but praise for the ending. My one quibble is that the way Odair's story wrapped up felt rather rushed. Now in serious withdrawal, been trawling the web for all things Hunger Games. Look what I found! Not all of these are great cinematography, but they combine Sims and my current favorite books.

Episode 13 of a whole series! The Hunger Games, presented by sims.
Rather imaginative. Adds many details not described in the book, but suitable for film.
