EF Bow Blouse: Bow or No Bow, Long or Short Sleeves!

Date Posted: 14th Apr 2009 at 11:17 PM

edit: Alpha group for the win! Bowless texture needs a collar, short sleeves need hems and shadows, but other than that, textures are almost done.

------------------------------------------------

This shirt will work great without the bow! I just need to paint a new collar on it. I will have at least two versions, one with the bow, one without. Might have two more versions if I make alpha sleeves: short sleeve and long sheer sleeve.

EF Bow Blouse: Now With Texture!

Date Posted: 14th Apr 2009 at 9:15 AM

I'm converting an AL outfit into a separate top, but the outfit only had texture for half the shirt. I handpainted the bottom half of the shirt to match the top. See if you can spot where the original texture ends. Bet you can't! So, shape done, UV map done, texture done. Next, finish the bone weight adjustment, make the mesh, make some recolors.

EF Bow Blouse

Date Posted: 13th Apr 2009 at 9:58 AM

I've started work on the EF separate bow blouse top. So far, I've adjusted the shape and the normals, and altered the UV map. Still need to adjust the bone weights and make a new texture for the bottom half of the shirt.

damn EA and their borked store

Date Posted: 7th Apr 2009 at 5:11 AM

Today's journal entry was to be about separates for grandma. Instead, I am spending my afternoon and evening attempting to undo the massive damage caused by the EA Store. I have every EP and SP, they all worked fine before I used the store. I made a store purchase. Afterwards, the M&G launcher failed to work. It said "wrong disk inserted" even though the M&G disk was in the drive. So I used the M&G EP9.exe instead. That ran, but the game said AL had been uninstalled. Lies. I never uninstalled AL. M&G BodyShop is also borked. I can no longer see any clothing from M&G, AL, H&M, and maybe Pets and IKEA, don't recall if those added clothes. This is what I get for trying to make a legitimate legal purchase. I can see what drives people to piracy and don't blame them. I comfort myself with the thought that I bought the latest EPs and SPs used, not from EA, so at least EA didn't get my money.

edit: Uninstalling and reinstalling H&M has put H&M clothing back in BodyShop. Now to reinstall the other borked stuff. Wonder how much uninstalling AL will mess things up?

edit2: Reinstalling has put clothes back in BodyShop, checking now if the game works properly. Grr, argh. Here are the clothes I meant to write about. They'll be turned into tops for granny.

3/4 sleeve untuckable sweater for EF

Date Posted: 3rd Apr 2009 at 7:10 AM

edit: This has been uploaded.

Here's an untuckable 3/4 sleeve sweater for grandma.
Goes nicely with the untuckable bottoms Coco and I have been working on.
I cleaned up the shoulder seams since I took these pictures.
The mesh is from All About Style, and will be included (with permission).

On an unrelated note, here's an untuckable default replacement mesh skirt for grandma (and mom). Check out plasticbox's recolors. I'll be untucking them shortly. The blue shirt with a belt is by All About Style
edit: I also made a default mesh and untuckables for adults, and tucked versions with plasticbox's textures (with permission).

My Current Projects

Date Posted: 29th Mar 2009 at 9:06 PM

Here's what I'm currently actively working on, in no particular order.

1) EF untucked top, from efBodyTurtleneckSlacks, see previous journal entry for pictures

2) AM untuckable default replacements for tank tops (see journal entry two down from this one, "no plumber butt")

3) fat morphs and recolors for Gelydh's AF cropped, rolled leg pants

3 1/2) EF default replacement slinkySkirtBoots, untuckable, with a better shape

Here's what I'm also considering doing. Tamo, Cocomama, dustfinger, if you're already doing this, let me know, so I don't duplicate your efforts.

4) untuckable t-shirt mesh for EM (must check if this already exists)
There's a version here, but it used an AM mesh, not an EM mesh. I want my elders to look elderly.

5) several separates for grandma, will see what Cocomama uploads, so I don't duplicate

6) pregnant morphs for Maxis AF bottoms, default replacements, that fit HystericalParoxysm's untucked top
the_mystical_one made a bunch of pregnancy morphs for lots and lots of clothes, but used a different shape than HP, that's why I'm also making a set

7) long term, several separates for grandpa, corduroy pants, default replacement for the sweater vest, some other stuff, no concrete plans yet
edit: KiaraRawks made some nice separates here:
http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=104628
edit: Kiara says they're not defaults, but I have permission to make them so.

8) all those other ideas I listed in my journal long, long ago, that I may or may not get to eventually, so if someone else wants to do them first, no problem exception: I do plan to finish my military clothing eventually

Annoying UV Map

Date Posted: 27th Mar 2009 at 11:37 PM

edit2: Cocomama does have several EF separates in the works, but it turns out the top from efBodyTurtleneckSlacks is NOT one of them. Coco says I can go ahead and make this separate top, so I think I shall, hee hee!

edit: I managed to make something reasonably stripey despite the UV map's limitations. I still hope Coco will make a straight line UV map though. This texture won't go to waste, I can still use it on the full body outfit. Orange sweater texture needs a better hem at the bottom, maybe sleeve cuffs, then it's done. Note to self, alter UV maps on future tops to allow easy stripes.

Cocomama is making an EF separate top out of efBodyTurtleneckSlacks. I'm quite pleased by this and have started on some recolors. In the course of this work, I've decided the UV map for this mesh is quite problematic, so I hope Coco makes it better. I think if it were more like the UV map of efBodyTurtleneckScarf, it would be much easier to make recolors with vertical stripe elements, such as cable knit sweaters. See images and maps below for a visual explanation. Obviously, the texture is for testing not an an actual recolor yet.

No Plumber Butt!

Date Posted: 25th Mar 2009 at 7:44 AM

edit: tm tanks tops are uploaded, am tank tops coming soon

I'm making default replacements of tm and am tank tops.
The defaults are untuckable so they can be used with a wider range of pants.
