morphs for Gelydh's top / wide jeans

Date Posted: 23rd Mar 2009 at 6:58 AM

edit2: This has been uploaded.

edit: I changed the pregnant morph somewhat. It is now looser near the bottom, so loose flowy tops drape more realistically. See below.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the next item in the maternity separates series.
Gelydh from ClubCrimsyn made a sweet alpha top.
I added a fat morph and preg morph. If Gelydh doesn't object, I'll upload them.
Recolors by Ninika and Mikexx2 & Fishie

I made a preg morph for my default af wide jeans.
They fit with HP's untuckable shirt. Green tee recolor by lenasha.

pregnant morphs for existing meshes

Date Posted: 22nd Mar 2009 at 7:49 AM

edit: this has been uploaded

I'm adding pregnant morphs to some preexisting meshes.
I thought HP's alpha dress top was an excellent candidate for maternity wear,
so here's what I did with it. If HP doesn't object, it'll be uploaded.

Rolled Sleeve, Slightly Open Oxford Shirt

Date Posted: 17th Mar 2009 at 6:54 AM

edit: The rolled sleeve shirt has been uploaded.
This has been on the back burner for a while, but it's almost ready to upload now. Shown with Sentate's short skirt and HP's slouchy pants. Teen version coming later. These will be on MTS2 (and MaxisDreams).

Here's another shirt, one of a set of three. Oepu made a red one, I made orange and blue ones. They complement Family Fun clothing. The mesh is HystericalParoxysm's untucked dress top. This will appear eventually on MaxisDreams.

Archive Your Uploads and Downloads on CDs

Date Posted: 14th Mar 2009 at 9:09 PM

edit: all my corrupted threads are now fixed, files reuploaded
Turns out I was missing two files, but Cororon had them, so thanks Cororon!

Several folks archive everything they download (or upload) on CDs. Some organize their archives by site, in addition to catalog category and creator. High time I started doing this too. Some good reasons to do so.

- You might buy a new computer (and not swap in your old drive).
- Your hardrive may fail. This has happened to me before.
- The site(s) where you got some downloads may close.
- The site(s) where you upload your creations may have hardware problems.

I do organize my Downloads folder, and I do keep all my uploads on my machine. However, I don't keep my uploads in zips. So I had to rezip all of my creations that got toasted when chii failed before reuploading them. All my meshes used to be zipped with their UV maps. I would then delete the UV maps and zips. Since I'm too lazy to regenerate UV maps for all my toasted meshes, the reuploaded meshes don't come with UV map images. Had I archived my uploads, reuploading would have taken me less time and the UV maps would still be with the meshes. Live and learn.

Open Letter to EA - sign if so inclined

Date Posted: 11th Mar 2009 at 1:05 AM

BlueSoup has written an open letter to EA. Please take a look, and if it echoes your sentiments, take a moment to sign it. I wanted EA to know why they won't have me as a customer for Sims3 and this petition let me do that.

edit: I just bought three *used copies* of Sims2 stuff packs I didn't yet have. That way, EA doesn't get my money, while the person who no longer wants EA stuff gets a partial "refund". I won't be buying Sims3, but since I already have Sims2, made playable by free community mods, I wanted to complete my collection. That way, I have more textures and meshes to make free CC out of.

Layerable Undershirts and Leggings (tattoos? makeup?)

Date Posted: 12th Jan 2009 at 7:31 PM

I want to be able to layer leggins and longsleeve undershirts with overshirts and skirts / pants. I do not want to have to make eleventy million different outfits for each possible color combination. Instead, I thought the undershirts or leggings could go on Morague's tattoo overlay or makeup. Then they could be combined with regular clothing and you end up with a lot less files!

Just need to be careful and make sure tees/leggings come off in the shower, while swimming, in undies, in pjs.

Maybe this could be done as Boy Voyage jewelry... so you could set it *per outfit* in game if you wanted to...

Who knows when I'll get to this project though, so anyone who wants to try it, feel free.

teen male separates / henna tattoos

Date Posted: 9th Jan 2009 at 7:39 AM

I'm currently making teen male separates. Here's one, untuckable board shorts. The mesh has a seamless waist, needed for untucking.

I'm also making lots of teen male Smooks Brothers style separates, creased slacks, untucked oxford shirts, open buttoned shirts, rolled sleeve tucked shirts, etc.

Akatonbo Why yes, I am making fully unbuttoned untucked Oxford shirts, separates, of course. Thanks for the info about the url's, I'll try to remember...

Also, on my mind, henna tattoos... Check out saramkirk's work, plant sim vines separated from the skin. I thought these would look great colored brown and put on Morague's tattoo overlay... Don't know if I'll ever do it, but someone else could.

open Oxford shirt w/ rolled sleeves

Date Posted: 8th Nov 2008 at 8:56 AM

Decided to make two versions of the adult Oxford shirt.
Here's the prototype of the second version.

It's taking a while because I need to make sure the shirt
works with as many bottoms as possible. The shirt mesh
bone weights are actually done. There's some bottoms,
a few custom, a few Maxis that wouldn't work with it
as they were. The Maxis ones had stiff, chunky belts
or wierd bone weights, so I adjusted them. Two of those
have already been relased (jodhpurs, wide jeans). Custom
bottoms didn't have anything wrong with them, but they
were either just a tad too wide or a tad too skinny in the
butt, so they didn't have the same fit as the Maxis bottoms.
So I've been getting permission from their creators to make
alternate versions (not fixes). So I'm working not just on
a shirt (or two), but also several skirts and pants.

found some oldies but goodies

Date Posted: 5th Nov 2008 at 1:39 AM

Some old clothing from 2005 or so isn't always in the new clothing categories, and of course, it lacks the new search flags. I've been slowly flagging old clothes, starting with the children's section, but occasionally I'll find some old gem and flag that too. See what you can find if you dig back far enough?
