Trapping Alpha Skirts! :D

Date Posted: 8th Apr 2014 at 7:09 PM

Trapping made alpha skirts from my mesh with Sentate's shoes! YAY! But I only found it just now, boooo! Would have been nice to know before I started my own AF conversion. Oh well. edit: Or maybe I saw these earlier then forgot? Entirely possible! XD Baby on the brain.

chain belts and untucked skirts

Date Posted: 4th Apr 2014 at 4:43 AM

I'm putting chain belts on some untucked skirts. The idea is you put a belt over any untuckable top and instantly jazz it up a bit. You can see one such experiment below. I'll probably use a different skirt texture, maybe a few mini skirt meshes too. The WIP below doesn't have finished shading so it looks rather flat, but that will change.

Have I Gone Too Far?

Date Posted: 2nd Apr 2014 at 4:55 AM

Think I've made too many shirts. Time to cut back on cc making and do some dusting, maybe some financial planning, maybe schedule that dentist visit. Priorities! ;p

swirl pattern shirt WIP

Date Posted: 31st Mar 2014 at 3:45 AM

I'm making new textures for the separated Uni flow tank. Made a mesh, but Jacci had already made a similar mesh. Mine doesn't have artefacts at the hem, but it is a small difference. Put needlecream and Artemida's lovely textures on the mesh, but don't feel right uploading just other folks textures. So I'm making some of my own. Didn't actually intend to make this top originally. Was making some alpha tunics. Decided those needed leggings and skirts. Then thought the skirts needed a variety of tops to go with them. Went looking for tops. And now here I am with way too many projects and little uploaded so far! XD Really time to start uploading some of this then get back to alpha tunics! (see previous journal entry)

needlecream flow tanks

Date Posted: 26th Mar 2014 at 3:41 AM

I saw Artemida's lovely flow tank outfit replacements and realized I want that tank as a separate. Then I found needlecream's textures. So here's my current small side project. Has someone made this a separate top already? Preferably with morphs and an alpha hem? Debating whether I want to make it an alpha mesh...

Should really start uploading some of the stuff I've been working on. Right now, that's...
* separate flow tanks (needlecream textures) DONE!
* morphs for Sentate's empusa peplum top + Sentate Amy jumper + kalynn tee
* a ridiculous amount of swishy skirts DONE!
* long alpha skirt for ladies, two styles I took from my teen skirt, plan to add more
* alpha tunics and shirts, which sparked all these side projects

More variations on the swishy skirt, a work in progress. The one with low boots is a modification of HP's. The others have a lower waist, taken from the EA flapper dress. Shirts by Trapping, keoni, Skellington, lolabythebay, Sentate, Mirade, HP, and others.

skirts and leggings

Date Posted: 22nd Feb 2014 at 10:17 PM

UPLOADED
I'm making a whole bunch of skirts, skinnies, and leggings, mostly frankensteined and modified from other folks work. Lots of small, quick projects. I want to make a bunch of tunic shirts but noticed there's not nearly as many skirts and leggings as I'd like so I'm making them to pair with the shirts.

HP made a lovely skirt from the Maxis flapper dress, but with high boots while I prefer low. I'm making an alternate version of HP's mesh with low boots. All the old recolors for HP's mesh will continue to work if you swap in my edited mesh.

The broomstick skirts are ready, and in 25 colors too!
Lovely day today, taking skirt pics and snuggling my little nursling baby.
Life is good, even if I can't figure out baby wraps to save my life.
If you know how to use a k'tan carrier, haaaaaalp!

little guy helps me color skirts

Date Posted: 9th Feb 2014 at 2:12 AM

Coloring these broomstick skirts is taking me a bit. My first attempts need some adjustment. Some of the darker shades need to be darker still, and several need to be more saturated. The teal and moss need to be more different from each other. The orange is just hopeless and needs to be remade. A few did turn out nice though, so I'm feeling hopeful.

Little Guy is sleeping in a baby carrier on my chest as I type this. Trying to get the hang of baby wearing. So far, I fail epically. He cries in all the carriers I try to put him in, and getting him in and out seems like wrestling an oiled octopus while drunk. And now he's crying, for no reason I can easily discern. Will try changing, feeding, burping, snuggling. It may be I'm just squishing him with this stupid carrier that I can't figure out how to use. Or he could be too hot in it. I sure am. Poor little guy, wish I could make him comfy. Thank goodness the doula is coming tomorrow to help me figure this out. I've read, watched videos, had friends show me how to do this, still suck at it. If more people practiced baby wearing in the States, it wouldn't be a lost art and maybe I wouldn't be so inept at it. Maybe I can help someone in a few years, if I ever figure it out? edit: Asleep again. Mercurial little baby is mercurial. At least he's happier in the fail carrier than alone in his rocker, so maybe I'm not the world's worst mom. Yes, I have first time parent issues.

I'm going to rate my skirts based on whether little guy sleeps, grunts, or coos.

I shouldn't complain. Got first world problems. I'm actually quite fortunate to be able to take leave and change jobs so I can stay here and care for my sweet little guy. Still, hate making him cry because I can't work the damn carrier.
