Even more roan (and some other goodies)

Date Posted: 29th Apr 2012 at 7:17 PM

The roan marking set is coming along quite nicely. Here's a sneak preview, featuring all but one of the markings/regions that will be included.

Also note the Holsteiner brand and custom leg marking. I'm pretty sure Holsteiners don't come in roan, but this is just my default horse that I test all my markings on. These will be released in future sets.

Roans

Date Posted: 26th Apr 2012 at 3:38 PM

I have been working on a set of roan markings, which I'm hoping to upload by early next week at the latest. Set will include two main roan regions (one with dense hair and one with less dense hair), 2-3 sets of roan spots, and a separate roan patch as a marking.

If you want more pics, check out Batqueen23's website. She has been very graciously testing the markings for me, and has many more excellent pics of them.

More works in progress

Date Posted: 15th Apr 2012 at 2:03 PM

It's just the way I work. I have numerous projects in progress, and when I get bored of one I just switch to another! I don't finish things quickly, but it keeps me working steadily. Here are a few pics from my lab, a promise of uploads to come.

Mystery horse

Date Posted: 23rd Mar 2012 at 10:43 PM

Short entry today, this is one of the horses I'm working on right now.

Whoever guesses the breed gets to name the horse when I upload him/her! Only one hint: this is not a common colour for the breed, they are normally much flashier.

New Computer, Markings and Other Thoughts

Date Posted: 17th Mar 2012 at 2:34 PM

Yes, I don't journal much, but figured it was time for an update. After four years of service, my old "creating" laptop has finally started acting up, so I have gotten a new, shiny one! This has caused something of a disruption in my creating workflow while I get things organized on new computer, but I'll hopefully be "up and running" again soon.

I'm very surprised and pleased with the warm reception my pet marking uploads have received! It's gratifying to know there are so many other people who are interested in more pet content for TS3. I have some regional markings in the works, just trying to fill in the gaps that EA left. Expect some blazes and facial markings for dogs and horses, as well as odds and ends such as a dorsal stripe for horses, and some cheek pips for tricolour dogs.

I have also received several pleas for me to upload my marking models. Funny thing is, all of them are only decorated on one side! I made them specifically to showcase the markings in screenshots, and knew I was only going to be photographing one side of them, so never bothered with their other sides. Thus, uploading the models is not simply a matter of packaging them up, each requires extensive reworking to actually be acceptable as an animal upload. I am focusing on the Gypsy Vanner from Stupendous Splotches and the Appaloosa Quarter Horse from Lots of Spots, though I will eventually try to upload the other two models from Stupendous Splotches.

If anyone ever wants to just chat, or pick my brains a bit, I'm often on MTS' IRC live chat, specifically the #create channel. You can get to chat under the Community menu on the site. Come visit, I'd love to say hi! I'm known as "PDawg" there.

PDawg out.

More TS3

Date Posted: 11th Dec 2011 at 2:01 PM

Well, I've survived my first few weeks as a mod! Fortunately, my new duties haven't stopped me from creating. Spirit and Rain went over very well, I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.

I've got a bunch of stuff I'm working on right now. I'm looking to upload a 3-dog set today or tomorrow, and I've been thinking about doing more movie pets. Either "Dodger" from Oliver & Company or Duchess and Thomas O'Maley from The Aristocats. I also have "Eddie" from the TV show Frasier nearly finished.

I'm also working on an English Setter named Barney, an Appenzeller Sennenhund (possibly named Rosa), an as-of-yet unnamed Eurasier, and an English Cocker Spaniel.

If you are really interested in any of these projects, leave a comment here or PM me, and I'll try to focus more on the project that gets the most interest.

TS3, here I come

Date Posted: 25th Nov 2011 at 11:06 PM

I'm back and creating Pets for TS3! So excited to share new doggies. I've devised a special project which I started last night. I own a dog myself, and there are a number of dogs in my neighbourhood whom I've come to know and love. I am going to make a series of TS3 pets based on the dogs of my neighbourhood. First up: Brie, the sweet little terrier mix.

I am considering requests, so if you've got an interesting idea for a pet, PM me and if I like your idea I'll try to make it.

That's all for now,

Pharaoh

I'm baaaack!

Date Posted: 25th Sep 2009 at 2:58 PM

I've gotten into posting again after an absence. At the moment I have two breeds in the cue, the Dogue de Bordeaux and the Shikoku. I'm quite optimistic about the Dogue getting through moderation, and we'll just have to wait and see about the Shikoku.

Hopefully I'll also be posting two others soon: the Norwegian Lundehund and the American Eskimo dog.

50,000 downloads!

Date Posted: 7th Jun 2009 at 1:39 PM

A very sincere thanks to all of my downloaders! I (at the time of writing) have 50,462 downloads , one picked download, and twenty people have me as a favourite creator.

I've been taking a break for a while, but I have a Norwegian breed made that I might be posting soon.

I dislike thinking of titles for journal entries

Date Posted: 4th May 2009 at 12:40 PM

Well, the Saint Bernards were rejected. One of those dumb "a few people beat you to it, so your idea isn't original" rejections. *gets annoyed*

Anyway, the Boxers will come in four colours (fawn, brindle, reverse brindle and white) and have versions with cropped ears and tails, natural ears and docked tail, and natural ears and tail. I'm quite chuffed with the Boxer, the shape turned out really well. The head isn't perfect (difficult head to get right), the muzzle might be a titch too long, but I don't think that's an issue.
