Hi there fellow sims modders.

Only since i while ago i ran out of time and health to keep playing MMORPG.
And The sims is so timeless i just had to reinstall it and modifie it to my own needs. :P

Seeing as i never really made anny costum stufff yet, it was some what harsh to find all the Guides to make a simpel object with a subset and recolors.
So i struggeld on and managed to split up my table in 2 parts (top and legs).
So i have more options to make a choice from.
It all worked nicely no crashes or flashing blue parts etc, thank to numenor and JWoods guides.
Tho i have some small issue that i cant seem to solve.

Ill start by stating what is in this faulty package first.(all basegame no EP's)
Cloned base from "The Talking Table" (gotta love that guide)
My own 2 part 3D model of the table as 2 subset (1 for top 1 for legs)
4 Recolors for each subset (same as the 1 subset base i cloned)
Simpel renames no changes to tablequaint etc.(i simply used the suggested name tho i know its not best way)

Now here is the issue(s):
When selecting 1 subset ingame (snowwhitemarble tabletop), the icon for 1 recolor (Classic White Oak tablelegs) doesnt change like it should, tho the other 15 option are working properly.
(all 4 subsets and there 4 recolors show up like they should only that one stinking icon wont vibe)

Since i split the table in 2, to make more color options, when i try to move the table now (after placing it) the grab hand doesnt show. (also known as mouseover in some games)
Tho it does apear over the table legs while that is a totaly new subset that the cloned base dint have.
And the tabletop is the replacement for the old table model

The rest seems to work perfect, asides from a minor anime issue with the table top, and prob shadows that i need to fit to this new object.
All stuff that ill worrie about later. Want to finish the basics first for my dinner set, then i tweak and perfect it.

Dont freak out over the simpel design tho, its only my first attempt to make a simpel object in the game. :jest:

Thanks in advance for anny help provided.
Kind regards
Bufu

PS: its prob something really simpel and obvious, only iff been over the package so many times now, that im actually getting more and more lost in the information provided by SimPE tool, and the guides that cover this creation. :anime:

Right. I've just tested your table out in game.
Not sure what you mean by the Subsets part, There's 4 working table surface subsets, and 4 working leg subsets. I just selected them all individually, all work. ;)
As for not being able to ''grab'' it, You need to grab the legs of this table to move it. :)

The grab part is your bounding mesh. You probably imported only the table legs the last time. SimPE takes the last imported portion of the mesh and makes it the bounding mesh. The quickest fix is if you re-import your legs and top and replace both at the same time, it will fix your bounding mesh.

Omg that simpel hu ... thanks Hugelunatic, ill try it in the morning, tho it sounds so logical it will prob work :)

Now all i need is that lousy icon to work for me ^_^
@DJ Music did the icon with the white top and white legs show for you ??
Iff so its prob my game and not mesh.

Your welcome. I am in process of a picture tute on how to fix them in simpe without re-importing. Quite simple really.

But the icons, did you refresh your thumbnails? Either deleting the thumbnail folder or ctrl+right click on the thumb plus all colors?

lool see i knew i forgot something simpel :)
Also verry logical todo so since the clone was a recolor 2.
Just fail to see why i glitch on that one thumbnail.
Annyways problems solved tnx a lot (everyone that tryed to help offcourse), time to perfect the textures where possible ;)
