I downloaded a castle a while ago & I love it.However,I wanted to make it bigger to accommodate a growing family.Anyway,I've had problems with these things,I'm not sure what to call them, column things?:
http://nl.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6y17yp&s=5
They won't delete.I tried all the tools & all the hacks & cheats & they won't go anywhere. If I delete the little lamposts on them,& the white things going up the sides,& if I delete what it's sitting on,& all the walls & floors near it,it still stays there. That pink roof looking thing that it's made out of just stays suspended in the air.How do I get rid of it? I love the house,I don't want to have to bulldoze it & move somewhere else.I just want to get rid of those things.
I tried messaging the creator of the house, but she didn't seem to want to help me at all. Please help me get rid of these annoying things!!
Thanks.

Moving to Build mode since your game isn't broken.
I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to delete – the white supports that sort of form a pyramid? Those are fences.

I'm trying to delete the pink thing at the very top.

Have you tried deleting the roof first? Use the roof tool (not autoroof) and choose the pointy one like whats in your pic. Then go right above the roof and hold ctrl while you click. Once the roof is gone it may work with the sledgehammer. Have you tried turning on "moveobjects on", then use the move object hand thingy and put in the delete box?.

I've tried both of those already.

You've probably done it in all different orders as well hey? Like trying to sledgehammer the walls first...or after...ect..
Do you know where you downloaded it from?, I'll download it and give it a try for you. I know I've had this problem quite a few times......it always took some messing around to figure it out.lol.
You know it may be something as simple as deleting everything you can around the pink thing you are trying to delete....saving, exiting to neighborhood, then re enter.
I find weird little glitches like this all the time.
Especially when I do roofs. You get weird stuff sticking out that looks horrible, but once you exit and re enter, they are gone.
Give that a try to!

Ah.I figured it out!
U have to build flooring around it & then hold ctrl & drag it across it & it deletes. HOLLA.haha.

Hotsexiikissez,
may try to use a brush or pen even from the simplest paint programme like Paint (in Windows) or alike in other OS to make a circle, a square, a triangle or etc to outline the subject you're refering. This may help you express your meaning better and faster.
Actually, I'm still confused with what was asked.
There're a few types of fences in TS2. The one plasticbox mentioned is the budding fences which allow sims-access at least in the stadard four directions (N,E,S,W).
TS2 Lot-builders have been using this type of fences for in-game beams, cables, wires, etc. It takes any extended points on plain grids to delete. Tiled grids can activate the build tool to be recognised. If this is the object pointed at, then this is no glitch.

Sorry niol, I guess I should have worded it better. I just meant there is a lot of silly little things that come up when building, this being one of them.lol. So yes, not nessesarily glitches...but annoyances. :)

The "pink roof-looking thing" is a spire. :) It's made out of floortiles, forced to slope using building cheats. You can't delete floortiles that aren't flat, unless by the method you did in fact discover - re-tiling a larger space with the CTRL key.
Another way that would have worked - turn on boolprop ConstrainFloorElevation false, then flatten the offending tiles. After that, you can delete them in the normal way. The hitch is that you might mess up some other part of the building that has been altered in the process. If you haven't played around with that cheat before, make you you have a fresh copy of the lot in case of accidents.

The thing I think is, if I remember the pic clearly enough (niol can't view it at the moment), the area is fenced which makes it hard to "ctrl"-"shift"-"left-mouse-click" pointing at any un-partitioned plain floor tile in the lot so as to delete such type floor tiles.
Thus, whether it's the fence or spiked floor tiles, quite likely users may need to use the cheat "boolprop ConstrainFloorElevation false" to delete when modding 2 known floor-tile-related files in the lot package file is not an option to consider.
The later can avoid further ado on grid layer fixes in complexly deformed grid levels.
Just a second thought, one may use Mootilda's TS2GA to flatten the spiked region to remove such floor tiles.

Hence, there're at least 3 ways to solve such problem here so far. :D May choose whichever one likes at a time. :anime:
Note, just in case, fence is a partition type.
