Can I build stairs using foundation?

Okay, I don't know if anyone else does but I really really really don't like the stairs in the game. They just.. they are so hard to place, and I mostly use the twisty ones but I get so tired of seeing them all the time. I'd much more like to build my own stair cases. So, what I am wondering is if it would be possible to build a homemade stair case from foundation and steps in your home? I tried it but I'm finding trouble placing foundation on foundation and then the steps. Anyone know if there is a way to do this. I want to make stair cases that kind of look like this:

Also, I'm doing a custom content free neighborhood.. so yeah. If there's a way to do this with the tools actually already in game, that would be great. I have all ep's and stuff packs but Bon Voyage. ;)

OFB has stages, which would give you something like that. No cheats required but you only get the landing at foundation level. However with lots of cfe you can get something similar. Check out Tutorials:Stairs_Tutorials for lots of tutorials on how to do that.

Like Lunatic said, you can use the stage foundations and check out those tutorials. I don't know if it'd help but MikeInside has a great tutorial about using a dummy level for stairs.
