I built a combination dive bar/exclusive lounge with an exterior to complement the surrounding homes in Sunset Valley, and I placed an elevator on the south end. When I tell the sims to go to the 2nd level, for some reason, the male sims head to the female sims bathroom door and stomp their foot (routing issue), and the female sims head to the male sims bathroom on the opposite site of the building and do the same thing. :wtf: Has anyone experienced this issue before? Do you know of any fixes I could try? I've placed elevators with no problems before, so this one has me scratching my head!

Are there elevators on all floors you want access? Are the elevators lined properly above each other? Are the elevators placed so that sims can get in and out? If there are many rooms, are there doors to go from other rooms to the one that has the elevator?

You say that you have placed elevators before without problems, but I still have to ask, to rule out any issues with the placement.

The thing that female sim goes to male bathroom to stomp their leg, and the male does the opposite, is quite funny xD

Thanks for the response, Armiel! To answer your questions...

1) Yes, there are elevators on both floors.
2) Yes, they are lined up properly.
3) There are no obstructions to the elevators that I could see. I left plenty of space around them since I know sims are stupid when it comes to routing problems.
4) There aren't many rooms, just an open area and 2 bathrooms downstairs, and a lobby and lounge upstairs. I did have bathrooms located upstairs also, but I thought that might be causing the problem, so I removed them. Didn't help. At any rate, no doors are obstructed that I can see.

I'm attaching screen shots of both floors so you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about. This truly has me stumped!

Did you use moveobjects on when you placed the elevators, or any other cheat? *Simsample clutches at straws*

Hmm... It might have been on for something else that I placed, but not specifically for the elevator. I might try replacing it without. Definitely worth a try! ;)

Check that there is flooring under upper elevator, it seems silly, you would think that it would block the elevators path but is actually needed for it to work

i had a problem similar to this. i found out that if you use moveobjects on, the elevator will not work. only restarting the game and not using the cheat works.

Thanks, everyone! I tried all your suggestions, but I think the problem was that the elevator was located on an attic wall (so it was part of the roof). I moved the roof up another floor, and the problem went away. It was pretty comical while it lasted though! Thanks for taking the time to respond.

In the second screenshot, I have to ask: what's the space between the two levels? That's like half a floor missing between them. If there's a hidden level between the two, then you need to use level skip markers from the debug menu.
