Can I put my toddler in daycare? If so how do you do it?

Once a Sim has the Daycare job, I think it's random as to whose children go.

Wow so active sims can't use it. I can't send my child to daycare all day and go to work? That sucks.

That's just what I had seen. I hadn't tested it yet.

I havent picked up my generation copy yet, but I was really looking forward to this daycare option. I think its horrible that EA would not include the ability to send your own toddler off to daycare. That is really ridiculous.

Even though you can't send your sims to daycare, EA has still given us a better option: boarding schools :D

By the way, daycare is really fun! A great job for sims with lots of free time and patience that does not require any skills.

I love the daycare profession because it leaves my sim free to do lots of stuff during her day. In between feedings, changings, and tickles she can work on her novel, she can tend her garden, and clean her house, all while still getting a grade A on her day care rating. It is a very flexible profession for me, as long as she doesn't mind staying in the house. When her husband is off work he can even help out. It's great!

Oh my gosh, I totally agree. D:
I mean, I know there are boarding schools, but it's not like I want to pack off my kids for their entire life stage. And toddlers can't even go to boarding schools, right? I just want someone to take care of my kids without asking the babysitter to come over! -_- I was really looking forward to that option too :\
This is like how I was really excited for Ambitions because I wanted to have a ghostbuster bust a ghost that refused to go back into its grave in my legacy family, only to find out that you can't hire ghostbusters. And that they don't bust "playable" ghosts. :faceslap:

Really disappointed that you can't send your own children to daycare :(

But at the same time, it would be a bit silly for my Sim to be paid to look after their own children.

I like the Daycare profession. It's cool that you can hold your mouse over each toddler to see what they need. I have only played a little but my sim is now taking care of two toddlers a day. You get a grade based on your performance at the end and each parent tells you how happy their child is when they come to pick them up.

I like the sound of the daycare career but I've been so busy creating these last couple of days I've fallen behind on gameplay XD

You have to search for a profession (not a career) using the computer.

I've been playing as a daycare owner for the last couple of hours and I my sims keep getting all this free stuff from her clients. One guy gave me a firehouse pole!

I never expected the daycare career to be available for the sims I was playing to use since none of the other careers we've ever gotten in the EPs were available to them and I doubt any ever will be. I think the rule is if your sim can work it as a profession they can't use it. Kinda sucks but it is what it is and this one doesn't really bother me at all because there is still the babysitter, or if your sim is wealthy enough the butler.

The only thing I dislike is that I was hoping you could still work while you have your own babies/toddlers, but you still are forced to take leave!

Which is why I love Awesome Mod and the ability to type in the command "Backtowork" and cancel their maternity leave.

I love the daycare career, but yes, am trying to find a work around where maybe I can make a community lot, where a daycare is set up, and we can drop off our kids. Not sure I can make that work, but I strongly suspect some modder will figure it out soon, because this is just too useful.

Can one use the newspapaer too or does it have to be the computer?

Can you take your daycare kids to the park? This is driving me nuts! How do you take multiple toddlers to the park?

You get a daycare van later on in the career, so I assume you use that.

you can also get the daycare van in buydebug if you don't want to wait :D

I very much like this profession if it werent for all the bugs im having. Parents arnt picking up there children, toddlers seem to teleport every where and children come around 6 30. Ive also had to quit and resart because the parents were not picking up there children and i cudnt then see what they wanted it just showed there names. Its a big bummer...
