Today I moved some of my Sims into a high rise in Bridgeport (can't tell you which apartment though, but it was the most expensive one) and I used the "RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings off" cheat to turn the whole level they were living on into their own loft/area. I used buydebug as well to remove the hidden room markers and add a few more to other areas of the lot, but when I went to live mode to move one of my sims, my game froze in an odd way. I am able to move around the town, slowly, but the cursor is stuck on the loading cursor and I can't do any interactions, and in the apartment the buy/build menu and placement grids are still visible. I can still hover over the icons for categories and get the little pop up explaining what category it is, but I can't do anything else.
I opened up task manager and made a dump file for the process and then had to end up closing the Sims 3 since it was eating up valuable memory on my computer.
I have had run into this problem several times before (I had the game about a year ago then uninstalled it, installed it again, uninstalled it, and now I re-installed it a month ago :giggler: ) and I'm just wondering if there's any possible way to avoid this in the future?
I have: the Base Game (version 1.34.27), World Adventures (version 2.0.86), Late Night (version 6.0.81), Generations (version 8.0.512) and Pets (version 10.0.96).
