So as you all know I was thinking of having a competition between the girls group and guys group to see who could gain the most members. I created a thread to ask your opinion on this and most of you disagreed, the guys took it too seriously calling me sexist and even flaming on this group. This was meant to be taken lightly, I don't understand why they thought I wanted to end their group. But I'm trying to clear it all up and for the time being I set the group to private. If anyone is offended for some reason regarding the situation, you can leave the group if you like. But this is being taken way too seriously and I'm trying to end it before the mods do.

I think (although I can't be for certain, seeing as I'm not exactly in the minds of the other posters) they may have taken this way too seriously. It was intended to be a bit of fun, but people interpreted it the wrong way.
I've been spying on the other groups (well, not really. I just like reading random threads), and they've all been commenting on the original thread, and saying that we were being stupid. You did nothing wrong, it was a joke, and they were the ones who blew it way out of proportion. I was one of the people who tried to defend you but I think, according to stuff on other threads, I was called stupid and whatnot, saying my post was pointless.
They took this the wrong way, and I really don't think you did anything wrong.

Well thank you PixCii for trying to help me out I do think they took it too seriously or maybe I just used the wrong words, I tried to sort it out but they just try to find new things to argue about, it's pointless. They're just bored and want something to do so they just Troll the forum. One of them even said we were bitchey. Nintendork even went as far as to create a thread about it.

Tbh having a competition to see who gets most members is not only pointless and immature, but this group has gotten a huge head start and the boys group just started.

I can't imagine what made you believe doing something like that would be fun.
Tbh I don't think it blew out of proportion, this whole thing sounds stupid.

Sorry, I'm only saying.

I wish Stephenie Meyer would quit writing.

I'm glad you've made it private for the time being. I tried to tell them not to take it so seriously, but I think I came across a little mean...as I tend to do sometimes. =/

Anyways, hopefully the drama bug has run it's course and everyone will settle down.

No need to apologize, but how is it immature? I created a thread to see what everyone thought about it, I wasn't going to do it if our group members disagreed with it and the majority of them didn't agree with it so I really wasn't planning on doing it anyway. I just thought we could do something to get involved with the guys. Kind of like a Guys vs Girl thing, it's not stupid to me. But everyone seems to think so negatively about, I'm not understanding what the problem is. Plus it's really just a Social Forum, I feel it should not have been taken as seriously as both Nintendork and the Guys Group made it.

Is there really a need to be so harsh about it though? I mean it's fine to not like something or to disagree with someone. But usually name calling is not the way to convince someone of your position...

I know this is the internet and it's easy to hide behind your screen. When I type to people online, I try to ask myself before I hit 'send', would I say this to their face?

I do apologize to anyone offended for thinking I was being sexist against men, it was just one big misunderstanding. Sexism is not something I was brought up learning, my parents taught me that men and women are equals and I do not discriminate against Gender, Sexuality or Race, and I'm done trying to apologize to a bunch of over-sensitive and immature little boys.

That's just it, Guys vs Girls is considerably sexist. And like I said before, pointless too.
I think it really wasn't worth considering all the drama that ensued.
ktbecca, you do realize that saying something was pointless is not name calling.

Dreamy I want to make it clear that I'm not calling you immature, but the whole idea of this guy vs girl thing is. I wasn't insulting you.

I wish Stephenie Meyer would quit writing.

Ok gotcha. I just thought by saying her post/idea was stupid and immature it also meant she was stupid and immature. But it was just a misunderstanding. No worries.

straightroad, that was my point in creating the "Rival Group" thread, I wanted everyone's opinion on it, to see if it was a good idea. Most of the girls in the group disagreed with it, so I was not going to go through with it. But then the guys decided to snoop and turn the whole situation into something it didn't have to be.
