I'm absolutely flummoxed by this one. Maybe someone else can shed some light? I've recently updated my game to the latest patch (1.36.45.017002 etc etc) and I have everything up to Showtime. Just after updating to the latest patch, I load up my game, everything's fine as usual, but now when I click on the Buy Mode button or the Build Mode button, the UI for Buy/Build modes only partially show up, and the cursor goes into the Spinny Circle of Loading (i'm on Windows 7) perpetually. Weirdly it still clicks-- in Buy mode I can click back on Live Mode and everything progresses normally. In Build mode when I tried my game froze and I was unable to click on anything, although my cursor still moved normally. I tried taking a screenshot to better describe what I'm talking about but the in-game camera doesn't show the UI in buy/build mode when I try and printscreen just showed solid black. Am I going to have to uninstall everything and reinstall again?? Or is there a way to remove the last patch/backtrack somehow? I tried googling for troubleshooting this issue and couldn't find it anywhere, and I wouldn't make a new post except this is kind of a game-breaking issue. |

Do you play with CC, mods? Have you done the troubleshooting to test if outdated, incompatible CC is the cause? CC becomes outdated/incompatible once you patch up to a different version than when you originally download the CC, if the patch make any changes to the code that the CC is based on. Doesn't matter if it is mods/hacks or Buy/Build/CAS catalog stuff. What have you done to troubleshoot exactly? Done the above FAQ? What is the status after doing each step? If you don't play with CC or mods and still get the issue, the cause may possibly be an incomplete patching or corrupted patching (files are incompletely copied or some interruption that made the copying process skip a byte or whatever). The only way then is to uninstall + reinstall + repatch. There is no way to rollback to an older patch without uninstalling + reinstall + repatch to an older patch version manually (ie do not update via Launcher). |

I did everything in there, cleared my cache, and removed all my CC and mods. Still getting the error. Guess I'll have to uninstall/reinstall. Wonderful. What a strange issue, though. |

And step#3 - renaming user folder? What's the status? Didja skip that one? Just in case, there's no old/outdated CC still leftover from the "old" framework in Program Files, is there? All the CC is in the Documents path? You've even checked in VirtualStore? |

Hey there, I was wondering if a solution has been found in relation to this issue, as I have followed all the steps, and reinstalled, but my build/buy mode is still not loading. Thanks, Jo |

MagicCat, please go through the game problem faq (ellacharm3d linked to it above). If you still have problems after that, post answers to all the questions she asked shinything. |

I followed the steps as instructed, but to no avail. Eventually I downloaded a 'bug fix' from an unofficial site, which sorted the issue. I still have no idea what caused it. Thank you for your help, though. |

Anyone who is not the Original Poster need to follow my suggestions and if they don't help, please, start your own thread. If the OP has resolved their issue and thus leave this thread inactive for weeks, this thread would be archived. If the OP has resolved their issue and come back here to confirm, this thread would get locked. Either way, this thread won't be available forever. This "(Ultimate) Bug Fix" you spoke of, MagicCat is advising users to use cracks and we do not support the use of them here, and that is not a final solution. And as we cannot know what has been involved in the making of these cracks, we cannot support anyone who use them and seeks help here, as having them in your game constitutes as piracy. @MagicCat, I see you've just registered, so please do take a moment to read our Site Rules. You'll find them under the Site menu. |
