Okay this is driving me NUTS! Does anyone know any solutions to the lot edging problem besides simply redoing the entire lot? It's happening to close to 70% of my world

I read somewhere that someone discovered the trick of selecting the "object move" tool and then double clicking on each lot. Or was it two single clicks? anyway try that. |

There's a button in the lot panel that allows you to "conform edges". It's the house icon on the far right. It'll modify the lot to match the surrounding world. |

The problem with the conform edges tool is it also affects the surrounding land and leaves nearby lots with their edges out of line. |

It also will cause the roads to go bad. If you smooth the road then the lot is out of line. This is the worst bug I have found in the WB. |

I have the same problem and testet both solutions. But I still have these weird edges. I think everybody must have this problem because I have those edges at nearly every lot. What else can I do? I have no idea

Both methods work great on the first lot then I go try another lot to fix it's edges then first one gets it's edges back. :p |

It was suggested on the Sims 3 forum to delete the lot then undo the delete. |

I've been having this problem alot myself, and those two methods didn't work for me either. But I just found out that if you save your lot, close CAW (might not be necessary), and then load it back up, the edges are perfect. Edit: I loaded my world into the game, and now the lot edges are ruined again... I'm getting tired of this

Hold down the alt button and move the lot slightly then do an undo, or you can just move it a square and do undo and that can help. Best way for me is to take the terrain tool and use flatten lot to make sure it's totally flat then move the lot over one square then undo. |

first turn on testingcheatesenabled true then turn on constrainFloorElevation true then in the terrain tools the second row (right row) top tool is a tool called "Soften Terrain". You may need to then relevel the floors in you home to make sure it is all straight but it will make the edges line up the the surrounding neighborhood without touching anything outside the lot. |

I don't recall who found this solution, but if you export your height map and then import it, most of the lot edge issues disappear. Do a new save first, just in case, and afterwards the bridges will need to be reconnected to the roads. (They'll still be in place, but the connections need to be clicked.) Items at the edge of the lot can keep it from adjusting. Terrain paint shouldn't matter, but I've had lots that smoothed themselves out much better when the paint was erased around the edges. |

I've found that having hilly lots cause problems like this, as does smoothing or doing something to nearby terrain. And as was already stated CAW's conform tool doesn't do a very good job. My solution is to just make all my lots flat ones, but even then if you smooth something nearby you can cause yourself problems. Making all flat lots also makes it easier to move things around if you want to trade housing locations too. |
