This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Game crashes after loading.
Hello everyone. As the title says, my sims 3 game is crashing after it finishes loading.
I'll start a new save, and it'll work perfectly fine for a few irl days, then the next day i'll load it, and as soon as it gets to game play, I'll get "this program is blah blah sfljgfl and needs to close" and i'll never be able to get that file to work again. I can start another save, and go through the some process, but it's very frustrating. It never crashes while I'm playing, only after loading.
I use a lot of mods like awesome mod and nraas and lots of cc. I've gone through it to see if those are causing the problem but I don't think they are. I keep my graphics settings low cause I'm just playing on a laptop. I've tried clearing my cache and thumbnails and stuff like that, and i'm not sure what else to try. I've done a lot of googling and haven't really found anything. If it's my specs not being up to par i'm fucked; I can't afford to buy new stuff right now, so I'm hoping there's another solution. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you!

Here are my specs:

Hi

Have you tried the crash log analyzer? It will help you narrow down the problem
http://modthesims.info/d/416883

I might suspect the culprit is your graphics, since Sims 3 had a really hard time with my onboard graphics card when I played on a laptop. But the crash log analyzer might give a clue

- run a clean game, no mods, no cc. (move your current user folder to a new location or rename it. Game will create a new one)
- play a bit, save, and quit
- load the game. see if it crashes.

You need to do a clean run to verify the game works in a clean game first.

it might take a few days to get back to you on this, cause thats how long it takes for the game to start crashing,(which is why i hadn't done it before) but i'll give it a shot.

The earliest of the EPs and SPs had their own updates, mostly object appearance (graphics) related, that were separate from what is the current patch system. They weren't very far reaching and most of us don't consider them to be required for play anymore, they certainly shouldn't be causing crashes if not present.

They sure don't seem important since i've never heard of them before, but it couldn't hurt to try. Where can i get my hands on them?

Usually we tell players that if the Launcher reports that such an update is available, go ahead and accept it but don't worry about it if this never happens.

There is also this method, where it says in the comments that it's been updated for 1.69. Apparently it works for some, but not everyone.

Okay, so on a whim, I tried playing one of my old saves while i had no mods installed, and it worked! So i guess this means that it was a mod. I just have to find which one. I'll try the 50/50 method and see what happens.
