This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Sims 2 Ultimate Collection Keeps Glitching
The saga continues (sorry mods, if it's bad to make this many threads just warn me I won't do it again I promise )

I posted about this on leefish too

What I posted there is:

I can't find my config log so sorry

I'm on a Windows 10 HP Pavillion laptop and my graphics card is intel core i5 8th generation. I recently switched my computer and had a graphics card just as bad on my old (Windows 7) computer where the game played fine with 3gb custom content

I'm having the blinkity blinkity problem like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW14UWr0XkU

So I've tried

*Playing the game vanilla

*Hack conflict detection

*Graphics rule maker

* *redacted as not to break this site's rules*

*uninstalling and reinstalling

*updating

*repairing

and more...

My game is on 60 fps, the shadows and edges is greyed out

HELP I will be your humble follower for LIFE if you can fix my game

I also tried the 4gb patch, editing the files, etc.

Help meeeee

My opinion. Your intel graphic from what I have seen on the compatibility chart is a card which will have problems.

I considered that but my last card was Intel too and ran pretty well with some adjustments.

HP laptops are not for playing games that is heavy on graphic and you will burn up your laptop if you keep playing sims 2 on it.
They always put the lowest end video system in the Pavillion laptops design to surf the internet and do very minor programs.

I GOT IT. Had to fiddle with the settings a little bit but I'm good now.

Well, I'm going to go pump some caffeine and stay up all night playing sims!!

/sigh

please stop spreading nonsense; i5 8th gen has embedded gpu with absolutely enough power to properly serve for Sims 2 (and s3 with lower settings) as long as there is enough RAM to spare for it. I mean: the machine is not something that rudiculous like these W10 preinstalled laptops with 4GB RAM. Frankly, since i3 2xxx series (HD3000) the only problem may be drivers or settings, and graphics rules file;* as long as there is enough RAM for sharing.

It won't be a rocket, but it will work just fine.

*perpetual and endless problems caused by MaliciousSoftware 10 not counted.

Ooh well it's mainly that I'm an idiot and was changing the game files without going into the game and changing the settings!
