Default Sims 2 accessory mesh for TM sims not showing up in body shop - 3IDR problem linking stage
I'm having a problem with a sims 2 accessory mesh I'm trying to make for teenage male sims.
I believe it has to do with the "3D ID referencing files" in SimPE and the "xmol" files.
the mesh isn't showing up in bodyshop

I filmed a video of exactly what's going on here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQc__yBvlAk

i finished the mesh but it isn't showing up. here's what i think went wrong...

^just like in the video tutorial, I deleted the XMOL files that didnt start with the 'tm' prefix (teenage male, thats who i want this mesh accessory to be for) and i deleted the 3IDR (or 3D ID) files under them. Then i did the whole PJSE and linking stage like in the video,
BUT in the video, they had to do that for one XMOL file (for adult female) and TWO 3IDR files (i only did it for one. thats where i think it messed up) I'm trying to make this accessory for teenage males and i couldnt figure out what was the second 3IDR file i needed to do the 'linking stage' for... and im trying to figure that out so i can get this to work.

here's the tutorial video i was following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX_iMWcVWIw

can someone please tell me how i can fix this?
If anyone has any questions about anything, just ask.
Please help <3

You need to be looking at the instance numbers (you've cut them off in your screenshots). Just deleting the file "below" the other one can cause problems, as they might not be sorted the same way every time.

I just helped someone with a similar problem here. I'm talking about hair there, so it's Property Set instead of XMOL. The principle is the same, though. I'm not sure if you have to add 1 to the Instance number for accessories as well... but you'll probably have to add something. Check inside the 3DIR file, once you think you've found the right one, and it should have the age/gender listed within it. That's how you'll know which one to link.

EDIT: Also, I don't know if this is an issue here or not, but just be aware that there are some funny things that can sometimes happen with accessories for teenage males if they've been cloned from the round glasses... since that file is missing some parts for the teenage male group (you've probably noticed that if you've ever had a child male Sim age up wearing those glasses; they'll be distorted on the teenage male's face).

It seems, based on my own experience following the tutorial video, that in accessories the XMOL file has the same instance number as its corresponding 3DIR. However, I was only able to confirm this by freezing the video at the exact moment it showed the instance numbers for the resources the creator was working with. I was unable to find "af" anywhere, except in the Plugin View of the XMOL files.

Anyway, thank you for helping me figure that out.
