Default Milkshape
This probably is not the best place to ask but I think it is a quick stupid question, and I hope one of the regulars here can answer it or point me in the right direction. I would like to try my hand at meshing, so I'm trying to obtain a copy of Milkshape. The links on MTS and the SimsWiki point to http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch/ , but this link appears to be dead. So I tried searching for Milkshape on Google, and it took me to http://www.milkshape3d.com/ . There I have downloaded a file ms3d184.zip (5,530,782 bytes) from http://www.chumba.ch/chumbalum-soft/files/ . The zip file contains the file ms3d184setup.exe (5,439 KB, Modified 12/‎12/‎2008 ‏‎14:30) which I presume is the setup program for Milkshape.

Since the place I got it from isn't where MTS told me I would find it, I'm a little wary. Could anyone confirm that this is now the right place to download Milkshape? I don't like running exe files downloaded from the Internet, unless I'm quite sure of their provenance.

Yes, that's the right file- I just downloaded it, scanned for viruses and installed on my PC. It's safe.

Thanks simsample! I was going to install it today, but my hard disk really is failing, and I can't create a system restore point, which I always do before installing new software. So it probably makes sense to change the hard disk before installing it. Anyway I've spoken on the 'phone today to PC World (where I bought the computer), and they think they'll be able to install a new hard disk and transfer the data to it. So it will probably be late next week before I get a look at Milkshape. It is however very good to know that I've got a good clean copy of it. Thanks again!

Poor computer- I know you have your Sims and other important data backed up but please just double check before taking it in!
