The Web of Post-Hardcore, Pop-Punk, Punk, (or any combination/variation)
(sorry for the potato quality/scribbling)
Blue is stuff found last night, black is additional links found this morning.
There are 16 bands in this web:
• My Chemical Romance
• Escape the Fate
• Falling in Reverse
• Fall Out Boy
• Panic! at the Disco
• The Cab
• Paramore
• Bayside
• Silverstein
• A Day To Remember
• Mayday Parade
• Sleeping With Sirens
• Peirce the Veil
• The All American Rejects
• All Time Low
• Green Day
All of these bands are more or less in the same spectrum of music. Most of the connections are minor (such as tours)
I started the web off with 9/11. As you may know, My Chemical Romance was formed by Gerard Way & Co. because of 9/11.
Escape the Fate, a band from Las Vegas had their big break when they won a radio contest hosted and/or judged by My Chemical Romance, leading to the band opening for MCR on one of their shows. That is their connection.
Falling In Reverse was formed because former Escape the Fate front man Ronnie Radke was falsely accused of murder and went to jail for a while. That coupled with drug abuse led to Escape the Fate giving him the boot (this is sort of mentioned in the song “The Westerner” on the album The Drug In Me Is You by Falling in Reverse). Radke went and formed his own band, Falling in Reverse.
(This is where things get wild) Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse are from Las Vegas, Nevada. You know who else is from Las Vegas? Panic! at the Disco and The Cab. This links P!AD and The Cab to Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse.
Panic! Gained popularity by a signal boost by Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. This, along with numerous collaborations connects the two. Panic! is also connected to Paramore, but only because they’re on the same label, Fueled by Ramen. This is a minor link.
The Cab is linked to Fall Out Boy by a few collaborations on The Cab’s album Whisper War along with some tours together. This makes their link.
The Cab is linked to A Day to Remember because they toured together. ADTR is also linked to Fall Out Boy for tours.
A Day to Remember is from the state of Florida. Two other bands are from Florida: Mayday Parade and Sleeping With Sirens. This connects the three (ADTR is from Ocala, Mayday Parade is from Tallahassee, and Sleeping With Sirens is from Orlando).
ADTR has toured with All Time Low, who has also toured with Mayday Parade, The Cab, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, and Peirce the Veil (who we’ll get to later). Those are a few more links.
ADTR has also toured with Fall Out Boy.
Paramore has toured with Bayside, who only has one other link.
After that, there are a few more minor links:
My Chemical Romance toured with Green Day and Fall Out Boy (separate tours).
Silverstein (who I had no knowledge of before making this web) has connections to The Cab, Peirce the Veil, Bayside, Escape the Fate, and A Day to Remember.
Peirce the Veil has connections to Sleeping with Sirens, Mayday Parade, All Time Low, and A Day to Remember.
The All American Rejects have performed once with Fall Out Boy
.
Unmentioned is Jason Lancaster’s (departed from Mayday Parade) band Go Radio. At the time the web was made, I hadn’t really considered it. They are linked to Mayday Parade, A Day to Remember, and, of course, Florida.
I was going to create a central link to the Vans Warped Tour, but I felt like that was kind of cheating since all 16 bands listed have probably been in it at one point in time and it would link all of them together.
All data is from Wikipedia. If I got anything wrong or some links are wrong or missing, please tell me. If you know of additional links (I didn’t really bother looking at Green Day and some links were hastily found), please tell me! I would love to know.

I know this is a four month old post, but Green Day is my favorite band, so I got info on Green Day. :D
Green Day formed in 1986 under the name of Sweet Children, but they changed their name to Green Day in 1989. The original drummer was John Kiffmeyer, but was replaced with Tré Cool in 1992 when John went to college. They became big in 1994 with Dookie's release. Billie Joe Armstrong had an on-stage meltdown at iHeart Radio 2012, which resulted in him going through rehab. A lot of their songs ware really dark, just give the Insomniac album a listen , but they also had their share of love songs, which made most of 39/Smooth. Right now they are working on their 13th album, but is not to be expected anytime soon.
A fun fact, the All American Rejects got their name from Green Day's song Reject (found on their 1997 album Nimrod).
Albums and E.P.s in order are 1,000 hours E.P. (1989), Slappy E.P. (1990) 39/Smooth (1990), Sweet Children E.P. (1990), 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours (1991), Kerplunk! (1992), Dookie (1994), Insomniac (1995), Nimrod (1997), Warning (2000), Shenanigans (2002), American Idiot (2004), 21st Century Breakdown (2009), ¡Uno! (2012), ¡Dos! (2012), and ¡Trè! (2012).

That's a lot of research you've done. You must really enjoy the genre.
That album isn't "dark" at all. Until you've listened to some of what Darkwave, Gothic Rock, Electro-Industrial and Aggrotech offer, you don't know what "dark" in terms of music means.
