Default A Question about The Sims 3 and 2K
Hey, how's it going? Fine I hope. I have a question for anyone who's willing to listen.

The thing is that I'm considering getting a 24" 2560 x 1440 monitor and was wondering how The Sims 3 looks and works at that resolution. It's a very, very good monitor and I'm pretty excited to get it, but before I make the final decision to actually get it I need to know if the games I play will support that resolution, hence the question. I searched around the forum for the answer to my question and I did find something, but the images are nothing but dead links and it kind of didn't make any sense to me. All I know is that the game apparently looks tiny at 2560 x 1440, and that it's probably not worth getting the monitor. But I would like to see what the game actually looks like at 2560 x 1440 before I decide to pick a different one.

Works flawlessly. The UI doesn't scale so that takes a little getting used to but 1440p is the best resolution to play this game at.

Those pictures are absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for them! By the looks of it, I think I can get used to the small UI with minimal problems. As for my computer specs I'm just gonna post all the important stuff along with the GPU for everyone. How's that sound?

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 Processor
GPU: GeForce GTX 1080 with 8GB GDDR5 Dedicated Video Memory
RAM: 16GB Memory
Computer Storage: 2TB Hard Drive + Intel Optane Memory

Very good, you def won't have issues running sims on 1440p
I also recommend reshade if you don't have it already

Oh Reshade! I tried it once, didn't like how the preset I was using distorted my UI and I also didn't like how the other one darkened it. So I ended up quitting it altogether cause there aren't many Sims 3 presets.

Yeah it is best to make your own. That's what I did. I managed to get settings that don't distort UI as you can see from those pics. With the newest version, it is so easy to change settings while in game

Huh, you know, I don't know why I never tried that. Note to Self: After getting new monitor try making your own Reshade preset.

Hey @Giga and @AGuyCalledPi you guys wouldn't happen to have side by side graphic comparison images between 1080p and 1440p, would ya? If not that's fine, I was just wondering if the game looks better visually in 1440p than 1080p, and if that difference in graphic quality was noticeable.

Yeah, I can see the difference. 1440p looks smoother in a way that 1080 doesn't.
I have to ask, do you play your game in 1440p all the time? Would you say that you don't usually play in 1080p?
