was The sims 1 game-play ever really modded like TS2, 3 & 4?
I felt like playing the sims 1 as I got the collection pack for myself. After some game-play I saw lot of things that annoyed me, but I haven't really had luck finding mods that one just drops to the downloads folder and then the mods magically tune the game-play to your liking (e.g those mods we usually have in sims 2, 3 and 4 like learn skills faster, 'this' bed gives more energy, no autonomous 'this' or 'that', relationship panel increases faster etc. There isn't even a mod that slows down motive decay, but instead they are objects inside the game that the sim uses to fill the motives.
So what's up with that? Or am I just really bad at finding such mods

Mods are a little different for sims 1.
Gnohmon made some good stuff, there are some more from Sim bunker that are decent as well (Like the revival ball to bring back a dead sim).

A lot of sites are gone now, but you can still get ahold of items through yahoo groups.

Yes it was modded very heavy and most of the active links are in this post starting from the last page working up to the first page for best results. http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...stpost&t=480970

I tried to avoid hacked items and concentrate on resource management, but two hacked items that I found greatly improved my gameplay were an espresso machine that gave a bigger energy boost with a smaller bladder cost (Mermaid Cove, defunct) and a shower that filled energy along with hygiene. (The one I got was from BunnyWuffles, but I think she'd recolored somebody else's item.) The energy decay in that game was absurd - I often couldn't get anything done in an employed sim's day and that wasn't any fun!
A site which has since been hacked full of malware, alas, had a lot of good items that added fun stuff to the game. Like a play set that pets and kids could play on together, a hack that let kids garden and have more pet interactions - things that really should've been there to begin with IMHO. There was one that let pets swim in the pool, I remember - the animations were a little wonky, though. They also had "circle of life" farm animals that could be eaten, and sheep and donkeys cloned from cats, which was kind of weird. I think that was also the site with the alternate farmer's market stuff. The flower seller and the vegetable guy were in love and they sometimes made you wait for them to finish canoodling before they served you.
Persimmon Grove (which can still be found: http://persimmon.ephralon.de/index.html ) mostly did recolors, but they had chickens and a kiwi and a beehive that attracted a pretty little predatory bird - great site!

I know I did some moddings. Unfortunatly, I lost everything sims 1, changed computer a few times and wonder where the heck it went..AND the site that was holding my creations..seems to have empty/broken download links..so!
But I had made tuck-in enable beds (I am not the only one who did this) But I also made a tutorial on how to make your own, along with other tutorials.
I had made the Play tag available for adults too...
A few hacked objects, such as a baby doll that your sim child could play with and perform the same animations used for handling the real baby. Object was a stroller, I had a crib too that did the same thing. (I say crib but I mean the baby bed thing) The doll was simply the baby mesh but smaller to fit a child.
I wish i could get these back just for the kick..lol

Sure, I remember there were mods for Superstar that made it so that you'd always get the puzzles right (the ones where you had to choose the 3 options in the right order)

The only mods I have (or ever had) were hacked objects that refilled the motives. Because I couldn't keep my aspiring singer happy.

The best hacked object for The Sims 1 IMHO is the rejuvenator... Maxes out ALL of your motives instantly, it's like a shower. Made my life fairly easy except when I wanted them to go sleep.

There were some mods for the Sims 1 that I know of. Most notably for me was the apartment hack.

I've always wished for a TS1 download section. It may encourage new creators if there was.

one of the few sites i know that continues to produce sims1 stuff nowadays is woobsha
http://www.woobsha.com/
they have all kinds of usefull hacked and modified items. pirate themed stuff (i use their pirate loo's because they can pass for not only primitive roman lavies but also are great for eco and outdoorsy sims areas) and other things like at home shops and enabled items.
the simlogical stuff is also very handy.
but the stuff i miss being able to help folks get is the C&C stuff. sadly their sites now so malware ridden that you cant even bother linking it.
however, if i remember correctly there is a yahoo group for them that you can still get their stuff from.
granted, that means making a yahoo email (lol, i have one just for them) but if you want all the sims stuff, thats where it all went for the sims 1

That is awesome that there is someone making TS1 stuff in 2016 (almost 2017!). I imagine it must be disheartening at times creating for a game that lacks a good size community i.e. people to say, "hey, we appreciate this, keep it up" so I really respect that person.
