This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons
Default "Artifacts" Show Up In Neighborhood of Newly Downloaded Game
Okay, long story short. I used to buy all of my games from the Origin website and download them legally to my computer. Origin has completely rid their website of TS2 games so I purchased my entire collection on disks so I can buy expansion packs I didn't have and still be able to use them.
After I installed Double Deluxe, I went to check it out to make sure was installed properly. It wasn't. My neighborhood looked like the picture I have attached. I have re-installed it twice. I do not want to update my driver because I would have to pay $40 to do so.

What am I doing wrong? I had DD, Seasons, University Collection, and Pets Collection all downloaded from Origin without any problems, why are the disks giving me problems?

Why would you have to pay to update your driver?

That graphics chip is pretty horrendous, so unless you have switchable graphics, it could be that you just really need to upgrade. However, another definite possibility is a corrupted installation. Try replacing your Objects.package: Game Help:Corrupted Objects.packagewiki - if that doesn't work you may want to try cleaning your disk and reinstalling (see Game Help:Installwiki). I can't remember if DD allows you to pick which included EPs to install; if it does, try installing just the basegame, then test, then install NL, and so on.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

You are using a notebook and the video card or "onboard video chip" is very low end and you may be hurting your notebook by running Sims 2.

Here is the link to update your drivers if needed: http://www.official-drivers.com/ins...CFcKDQgodJBgAuA

Also you can log into EA and you can still get the downloads but they are very hard to find, you may need to ask in the support section and they will give you the links.

After I follow the directions of the link the "drive installer", I click on all of the drivers that say to be updated and it requires me to purchase it.

Always download drivers from the manufacturer's website, if you can. In your case, that means one of these links:
HP: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/si...ette.cachetoken
AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/downlo...-%2032&rev=12.4

If you still see a message asking you to pay for something, please take a screenshot, because I have no idea what that could be.

I've downloaded the new drivers, I have rebooted my computer, and I have re-installed my game. Nothing has changed. Is there anything else I can do or am I just out of luck?

Did you follow the instructions I gave/linked to above to rule out (or fix) a corrupted install?

I'm mostly confused with that. Do I copy Base, EP2, and SP4 to Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Objects?
Or do I do something with the compressed file

* I deleted the objects from the program files. and copied "objects" from Base, Ep2, and SP4 to program files. Is this my goal?

*adding the new objects did not help

* I contacted EA Help and all I had to do was change into compatabilty mode and run as administrator. I'm sure it wouldn't have worked without your help on the drivers. Thank you so much, and I apologize for having to deal with my cluelessness!!

Wow! I'm impressed that you managed to get any help with TS2 from EA. Well, I'm glad it's working now.
