Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage
Default I accidentally deleted my files
Hello, I need help. While uninstalling an ep I accidentally clicked "yes" when it asked to delete my files. Is there any way to get them back?

There gone when this happens.

When using the game to delete CC you lose them for good.

How to get them back when deleted ingame?
Make sure you have a backup of your downloaded files. This is probably agood opportunity to learn from that mistake.

OP didn't say they deleted them from in game. They said that they were uninstalling an EP and accidentally clicked "yes" when the pop-up asked if they wanted the files deleted.

That said, I'm not sure what happens to the files in that case. Are they sent to the recycle bin or are they hard deleted right then and there when you click "yes"?

Pretty sure they're deleted from the computer, at least ont he same line as deleting files from the recycle bin, meaning a few programs might be able to get them back as long as you don't fill up the computer - but it's probably a very bothersome process, and doesn't always restore the files fully.

I don't think files deleted via uninstalling the game or deleted from ingame show up in the recycle bin. Only files deleted directly from Documents and other folders show there. Deleting via uninstall and ingame is pretty much like deleting the files and emptying the bin at the same time.

Keep a backup of your downloads somewhere else than on your current computer (USB drive, ext.harddrive, DVD/CD, cloud service, etc.) so you don't lose it again. If you also want to keep your game safe, save a backup of that, too. Anytime you do any big changes, do a backup first, so you have a restore point in case things go bad.

Also, I'd advise you to not uninstall EPs unless you're also starting over with a game. If you add an EP you'll be able to use the old game, but if you remove one, you will have to start from scratch, or the game might not work properly (different game engines can cause issues, missing items, CC issues, and so forth).

Its the same as deleting in game. When the game deletes anything it is gone no matter how the game done it.

You may be able to do a file restore by right clicking on the EA folder in programs and doing a restore to earlier date.

1. Right click on EA Games folder in the programs area.
2. Click on Properties.
3. Select Previous Versions.
4. Chose a date just before you did the uninstall of the EP.
5. Hope it does the trick.
