This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, Nightlife
Default 'Problem occured, retry' Message pops up when I try to install Sims 2
This message popped up when I was trying to re-install Sims 2. I've only installed the game once and it kept crashing so I just uninstalled it. I want to play it again. What do I do?

Try cleaning the disc and/or copying the files to the hard drive, as outlined here:

Since you're installing from the disks, you might want to follow these instructions: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=500523

And if you can't get it to work, you can always contact EA CS and explain the situation, and they'll give you a copy of UC, which installs without problem on Windows 8+.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

Grumpy Loader from Nysha's link worked for me when getting similar errors.
