Hmm, I wonder what is going on then. I have Bluewater Village attached to Strangetown and Chester Gieke is sitting in the Strangetown Family Bin, and so are the Larsons. Unless its because I'm using Tarlia's cleaned templates of Strangetown and Bluewater Village.

Do you have NoUnlinkOnDelete? If so, isn't it supposed to make it safe if you do accidentally delete a grave? If it doesn't make it safe, what is the point of NoUnlinkOnDelete?

No I don't have that. What is it? I might be interested.

I have often wondered if their moods have had any effect on that...

Thank you to everyone who has answered my daffy questions so far, I just love this community....got another one for you

I have downloaded sims & as I've stated before I'm still in process of reorganizing my cc. I have a test hood that a couple of unnamed custom sims have been placed. If I were to remove the Clean Installer file & their content from the folder would that bork the neighborhood, as though I have deleted a tombstone? Or would just the clothes & hair they are wearing just disappear?
Do I have to open the Clean Installer for every sim for one game to the next or can I copy & paste into the folders?

**I really hope I'm not being too long winded but working nights & baby-brain doesn't help with coherency**

I just tried putting Sanjay Ramaswami in plat mood after he got fired. Still nothing. At this point I'm convinced the interaction is just there to waste your goddamn lifetime aspiration points.

If you attach Bluewater Village to Strangetown, then Chester Gieke should be available in the family bin for both. The family bin can be used to move sims between the primary hood and subhoods.

NoUnlinkOnDelete is one of Pescado's mods which can help to prevent save-game corruption which occurs because of bad EA coding. Unfortunately, adding the mods won't fix your existing neighborhood. You'll find Pescado's mods here:
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs

Documentation for many of his mods is slight, but available here:

Warning: MATY is a bad place to ask questions; people there can be really rude. If you want to ask a question, be sure that it hasn't been answered before anywhere on the site.

Well that explains that then lol I haven't added Bluewater to my main hood. Silly me. I'm playing an apox hood & completely forgot about the subhoods. Thank u so much to Peni, Mootilda & Orilon Baby brain strikes again

Is there a list somewhere of what families are added to family bin with different hoods? I know it's probably listed on the wiki, but a list with all the information in one place would be great. It seems I missed a few empty templates when preparing the new installation, and I have a bunch of families in family bin that I am unsure where they came from so I need to track them down. I'd ask directly here, but I play in my native tongue and for some reason they thought it was necessary to change all the names (it gets REALLY confusing when everyone is talking about some character like it's common knowledge and I have no idea who it may be =P)

If the family bin families are appearing in a newly generated neighborhood, then you've missed one or more of the stealth subhoods. There's no other explanation. If your stealth subhoods don't contain any sims, then those sims can't be added to a new neighborhood.

No, my problem really is that despite all the cleaned neighborhood templates, the families show up when I create a new hood. I just tried it again after once more downloading the template files, deleting the files in the install directory and then placing the downloaded versions in their respective folders, but again when I created my hood all those families were there. I don't understand. It should work, but for some reason it doesn't.

For instance, these are now my Bon Voyage folders: https://imageshack.us/scaled/large/62/zuchtg.jpg

No character folders, the neighborhood files replaced with the MATY ones, and still the Traveller family appeared when I created a new hood.

If a lot started out as a residential-zoned (but never occupied) lot, and was then rezoned to community (but never owned), is it safe to package up and move to a new 'hood? Similarly, if a lot started out as a dorm (never occupied) and became a community lot (never owned), is it safe to package and move?

I ask because the "Helluva Hacienda" that comes with the base game has become the campus gym in my 'hood, and when the inevitable rebuild eventually rolls around I'd like to be able to still use it.

Hmm. I was pretty sure I did things right and I am also finding families I don't expect in the family bin. It's possible I screwed up, but now I am curious. From where did you get your templates? Links in original thread are dead, so I grabbed the ones linked by tryclyn on page 28.

Hmmm...is it possible that somehow certain files got installed twice, in different locations? Because that is freaking weird.

All you can do is the best you can do.
(My most recent book is Sullivan, That Summer. In case you care.)

I wonder whether you're running to a problem with UAC? Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, makes sure that you can't actually make any changes to your Program Files folder (argh!). You could try turning it off before making the changes.

I also agree with Peni. Check for duplicate installation folders.

Thank you Vladora, that is most helpful. One follow-up question. This Cooke from Freetime, does his story say he stole some secret from some dude and is ready to find a new place to create culinary masterpieces? The rest I could figure out the names, but not this one.

Thanks, that clears things up for me. Another follow up question :3 Does anyone know in which template Cooke and Picaso are? I want hobby lots and hobby people, and from what I recall those are in the stealth hood from FT. Are Cooke and Picaso in that one as well, or in the other one? I don't recall having them last time around, but I could be wrong.

@Below: It is definitely FT. But FT has two templates, the new hood and a stealth hood. I want to know in which one Picaso and Cooke are =)

Cooke and Picaso are either FT or AL. I think it's FT, because of the connections with cooking and art.

Thanks Mootilda. Chester Gieke is in the Family bin in both Strangetown and Bluewater Village. I had a headache earlier and got confused from Peni's post on the previous page about if Chester was supposed to be in the Bin or not.

Ok, this may be another headache question: Is there a way to get non playable Sims off community lots?

Nervous Subject had wants to buy new clothes and get married, so I sent him to a downtown community lot to buy clothes and scope room to see if there would be anyone he liked. He kept getting queue stomped to watch Melody Tinker fighting with a townie teen, and I'm curious if there if there would be a way to get Melody and the other teen off the lot if they start fighting again on future lots. (There was several fights between Melody and the same teen, and I saw the enemy symbol go up between them, so I don't doubt they would fight if they are on the same lot again.)
