Neighborhood Selection Screen and Description Screen Showing as a Green Grid
Hello all,I have somehow managed to break my neighborhood selection image (the little animated one) and the neighborhood description image that goes with it, both belonging to Belladonna Cove.
I only know this occurred after doing a few genetics fix-ups after doing in-game plastic surgeries.
Everything works fine in the games, launches, loads, everything playable and in place, except those two images, as shown below.
It doesn't seem to be the Neighborhood.reia file, as I tried replacing the one in this neighborhoods folder (in documents folder) with one from the program files folder...no love.
Any help appreciated.

Wish it was that simple!
The .png and .reia files are still in the folder, and ok.
I think possibly they've become "unlinked" from doing their job somehow, but I don't know where to look or what to look for in the .pkg file.

Try this delete the NeighborhoodManager in the neighborhood folder then start up the game and see if that fixes it.
If not just replace yours with mind then try again.
You may need to take full control over the Sims 2 folder in My Doc's by right clicking and setting it to read and write for all folder and files inside.

So the .png does have the proper extension still? Have you tried renaming that hood? All the lots/characters/etc are still E001_ prefix?

Everything still has proper extensions in the folder, yes. I did try deleting the neighborhoodmanager.pkg and allowing it to re-make itself, no change. Also just tried renaming the neighborhood, still no change.
So puzzling.

Your error makes me think of when this exact same happened to me, It is because I play on an iMac and OS X has a Maximum Open Files Limit number and I had exceeded it, and so what was happening is that the game was failing to load the requisite files.
Your game is not loading the files for some reason. So you are either playing on a Mac or you have some error on your PC such that it is not loading files for some reason.
for info on changing the Mac Open File Limit check out my post here http://www.insimenator.org/index.ph...html#msg1628939

UPDATE:
Fixed!
After bunches of checking things, I finally realized that somehow the neighborhood file had gotten incorrectly renamed from xxxx_Neighborhood.pkg (capital N) to xxxx_neighborhood.pkg (undercase n).
Oh golly!
Simply changed the case and voila, all better.
