Can't Unistall because of dependents?
I have the CC in my game, no bad I guess but I didn't put it there and I want to uninstall it. and everytime I try I get this:https://gyazo.com/f36b9237fa80aee35a4fdaad5505f82e
how do I find the dependent of the item so I can get this out of my game please! :lovestruc

There are several threads talking about the same issue:
http://modthesims.info/t/520954
http://modthesims.info/t/415117
http://modthesims.info/t/436438
So is it possible that the object came with a lot you installed via the launcher?
If that's the issue, and if you really want to keep the lot, maybe place it in the world, remove the TV (so it won't be replaced by another object) and save it in you library.
Then delete the lot in the Launcher? Or move your Library folder out temporarily? And try to delete the object once more?
If you're pretty confident that deleting that object won't cause another one to malfunction, I suppose another possibilty would be to know in which file from the DCCache folder that object is (several files with the "dbc" extension).
1) Get the individual object sims3pack (you may find here) and use Delphy's Multi-Extracter to extract the object from your Sims3pack in package format.
2) Get S3PE and explore the different .dbc files to find in which file that object could be. Personnally, I would import the object file in those packages without saving right afterward, until I see several striked lines. That would mean the imported files replaced some already existing files, that are most likely from the same object.
3) Sort by Chunkoffset and delete all files with 0xFFFFFFFF in this column. Then save your file.
That should ensure that you removed only this particular object from the .dbc file.
If those steps are not clear Nonamena made a great illustrated tutorial!

I know this particular piece of CC, or rather a cc world in which this TV is placed and to which it is attached: Alpine Meadows by Cink Sims: http://cinksims.blogspot.de/2013/12/alpine-meadows.html
If you have this world in your InstalledWorlds folder uninstall that first and then try again to uninstall the TV.

funny you mention that, because I did install that game just to see what it looked like, and I unistalled that (mainly because I was looking for a world for sims to go camping) world. so I guess it must be something else because I already uninstalled that.

Hm, there is still the chance that you got the TV via this world and then the TV started to spread. While you still had the world installed did you make Sims and lots that you exported as sims3packs and then installed them back into your game via the Launcher?
If you did would you mind sharing some of them with me? I am looking for these cases of rogue custom content and this would expand my list if I could find that TV in lots and Sims.

nope, I saw that I couldn't do much with the world that would go with my storyline so I unistalled it once I saw what it looked like.

I got that crappy TV when I download Cink Sims Desert Streets world. After I uninstalled the world I was able to uninstall that stupid TV. I think it comes with ALL his/her worlds. I think the only way you could not uninstall it is if it were perhaps on one of the lots you might have saved from that world? Unless you have another world from that creator?
I have a curtain (can't recall the name of it, but is fugly) from lunasims that I can't get rid of for the life of me (has dependant). I have no idea what world or lot it's in but I'll find it one day.

Ok I found out that all of my crappy CC came from Alpine County. now i'm afraid to download the world (because I love it so much) because I don't want the bad CC to come back. and the cluster cleaner doesn't work on worlds so I can take that out.
thank you all for you help! I really appreciate it!

Are you sure that it's Alpine County? Because the version of that world that I have (AlpineCountyPopulated.sims3pack) is CC-free.

I have that same version. I don't know whats going on then. because I had the bad cc after alpine county and I also had cape garner islands but I installed that after I had the bad cc. so it only resulted in alpine county. I'll install it again and see what happens though.

I now always use sims3pack cleaner on all worlds before installing them. Just uncheck any cc included then "save as" and it will make a cc free copy of the world (sims3pack).
Wish I had known about the program back in the day when I installed all sorts of junk into my game. C'est la vie.

I'm pretty sure it's this one http://modthesims.info/d/390235
It only opens uninstalled sims3packs which I put in a specific folder amongst all the junk I tend to save.
I can open worlds (sims3pack) with this, then I untick the boxes on the custom content leaving anything above and including the thumbnails as is. You can get rid of patterns and objects that you don't want installed along with said world or lot. I think it works on sims as well (which I don't ever download, had too many problems with them).
Then hit "save as" ( I don't think the "save" works, at least I never could get it to) and it makes a copy - for example - it will say "copy of Fratres" (a cool steampunk world with tons of cc). (Do not untick the boxes if you want the world to look exactly as it was created). Then you can double click the copied sims3pack and it will install into the launcher just like any other sims3pack.
I probably didn't explain this too well and if not there are some tutorials online that does (including pictures to help along the way).
