This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default Skuversion.txt Missing or Corrupt?
So my game has been crashing. When I run the Crash Log Analyzer by FordGT90Concept, it crashes before it even opens and an error message appears saying: "The skuversion.txt for product "The Sims 3: Seasons" is missing or corrupt. Please install the aforementioned product and try again." When I run the Patch Downloader, I get the same error message but for ALL of my expansion packs.

I reinstalled the base game and all the expansion packs, but I'm still getting the same error messages.

I think because I downloaded from Origin, my skuversion.txt is in Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > The Sims 3 > Game > Bin > skuversion.txt. It reads:

GameVersion = 1.69.43.024017
Code:0.XL-2.0.32
Asset:1.Content.rl.41
Thumbnails:1.Thumbnail.dl.933
TCC:1.TCC.dl.1209

I do find it interesting that I have all the expansion packs in Program Files > Origin Games too, but all of these folders are empty. I do not know if this has any effect on my problem.

Please help.

Today, a new version of Sims 3 Crash Log Analyzer was uploaded, that works with patch 1.69: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=580022

Thank you, but it still shows the same error message.

Hi Gracefell (love your user name)
I think you should try the following:

1. Log into Origin, go to My Games, right click on The Sims 3 and choose "repair game". If this works- you're done.

2. Perhaps when you uninstalled, some game data was left behind. Try cleaning the registry. I can highly recommend CCleaner by Piriform. I have been using it for years and it's easy to use and does a great job. There is a free version: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner After uninstalling and cleaning your registry, reinstall once again. If this works- you're done.

3. Most of the people who help out on this site do not have a digital download on patch 1.69. You might get more help at the Origin Answer HQ: http://answers.help.ea.com/t5/Origin/bd-p/O-2

Good luck.

Hi o/

I have the same problem : I have the error message for Town Life Stuff.
I am not sure when exactly, but the game was for free during a limited period, and I bought (well more like downloaded) it for free. Until there everything was ok.
Recently I changed my computer. In order to reinstall Town Life Stuff, I thought that it would be present in my Origin galery... but it wasn't. When I go to the Town Life Stuff page, it redirects me to "The Sims 3 : Beginner Pack" (it is in French so I don't know the exact name in English)... And I couldn't reinstall the game.
So I try to deal something : I took the folders from my previous computer to the new one... And I managed to install the game this way...

As my game is crashing on my new computer, I am looking for solutions and I found out the Crash Log Analyzer... I tried it and I have this message about the "Skuversion.txt Missing or Corrupt".

So now my question is : is all of this responsible of the game crashing ? Should I buy the Town Life Stuff game as a last solution ?

Thank you in advance ^^

see, i have this same problem and it just started last night. i downloaded the crash analyzer and it claims I don't have world adventures. I did everything you suggested to the person above and none of it worked not even the repairing of the game. i have all ep's and sp's and patched to 1.69. i did a clean uninstall of my entire game and cleaned my registry and then reinstalled the game i made sure to delete all sims 3 files and moved my sims 3 folder in the documents onto an external hard drive just so i can make sure it was a clean install and i still get the same error for this program.

i'm getting tired of my game just crashing and i don't even check all of my ep/sp when i play because my processor is not that great but i have a nvida graphics card..... WTF

Bumping this back up in the hopes somebody has an answer.

I downloaded the updated Crash Log Analyzer. I'm patched to 1.69. I own every EP and every SP and I'm getting the "missing skuversion.txt" message for every single one of them. I tried using the "repair game" trick above with no luck. Help!
